Many problems were starting to occur within the Chinese society due to the increase in population. They became worried due to the increase and started to encourage couples to have only two children. When that didn't work, they issued the one-child policy to control the population within urban areas. Put yourself in the shoes of the mothers. Having to make the choice over the resources you need and the baby you so desperately want to love. Can you even begin to imagine? I know I can't. Many women are forced daily to abort their babies without any say at all. If they fight against, they have to pay the consequences. So before you decide what is best for these countries, think about how you would feel giving up your own little baby. 

In this statement, I used pathos. I tried to make the reader think about how they would feel. The pathos in the video connects with the woman that was forced to abort her baby. It also connects with the father that was all alone because his one son lived far away, but he would have had two more kids to keep him company if his wife wouldn't have had to abort them. The ethos in this video connects to it being wrong to abort babies like that. In the 1960's, every family had around five children. Compared to that today, the average rate is 2.7 children per family. About 50% of the world's population/79 countries, are under the 2.7 fertility rate now. If the rate continues to drop, then eventually the resources that are at a low will level out with the population. 


This statement includes logos because it gives statistics. It shouldn't be the government's choice to decide how many children a family can have. It isn't fair and it definitely isn't right. In the eyes of the law, it might be legal, but it is wrong in the context of morals.

The government came and forced her to the hospital where she was injected with an abortion-inducing drug. Afterwards, she lay distraught, saying "Baby, I'm sorry. We were not meant to be." This poor woman was forced into a situation that should never happen to anyone. 


This statement is a mixture of pathos and ethos. Ethos is used because I was the spokesperson for the lady. As you can see, abortion rate are very high in China. Hopefully, these rates will decrease as soon as possible. In the mean time, we need to try and assure that abortion rates will not rise in other countries.
