How does genetically modified food effect our body?

Would you willingly put your body at risk of breast cancer, decreased effects of antibiotics, reduced fertility... and the list goes on. This is exactly what you are doing when you consume genetically modified foods regularly. Studies have proven that regular consumption of genetically modified foods can have very dangerous and unwanted effects on our bodies (scary right!). So what exactly is genetic modification? (commonly known as GMO) Genetic modification is the process in which the genetic information of an organism is changed by inserting or taking away specific genes, by exposing the seeds to chemicals or radiation to generate new or enhanced traits. Sounds technical right! Scientists are always trying to find ways to improve or alter something but when the cons clearly out way the pros I think its best to stick to the natural stuff (if you know what I mean). In one experiment, multiple generations of hamsters were fed a diet of GM soy; by the third generation, they were losing the ability to produce offspring, producing about half as many pups (poor little hamsters!) as the non-GM soy group. To be honest if that doesn't prove how harmful genetically modified foods are then maybe this will, some other tests were done on the poor little animals and the results were definitely not positive, they had altered metabolism, inflammation, kidney and liver malfunction, and a reduced effect of antibiotics in fighting off strains and diseases. This is why it is CRUCIAL to read labels and know when food has been genetically modified, I mean who wants all those problems when you can just go natural. I say stick the stuff we know not something the scientists whipped up in the lab. Go GMO free!
