         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think everyone needs to felt heard/validated. If a facilitator acknowledges he/she has read what I have posted, I'm more encouraged to keep sharing. The response also has to be encouraging in that even if he/she has a question or disagreement, it has to be phrased in a way to encourage more feedback and not negatively where it shuts the person down.</div>]]></description>

The chat is also a great place pose an off topic engagement twiddle. This can allow for everyone to participate in a fun way as well.</div>]]></description>

Eventually, the silence will drive you away. Facilitators can identify lonely posters in an online community and prop them up with meaningful comments and feedback. "Good job" is not enough. And then after I do, get some type of recognition for my contribution besides a “Good job!” It has to be specific.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>By interacting with the participants in a timely and thoughtful manner,  folks are encouraged to continue to engage in the community further.  "Ghosting" feels like a real insult to people online and makes them wonder if anyone is reading or caring about what they have to say.<br><br>Timeliness depends on the expectations set by the online facilitator.  It's ok for us not to have to sit with one tab open all the time waiting for that post to respond to quickly.  So long as participants are aware of the timelines, they can manage their own expectations for responses.</div>]]></description>
