↳overpopulation was a result of the Japanese moving slaves from Indonesia to Singapore
WAR
↳available housing and architecture were demolished by the ongoing war,so people had difficulty finding homes.Rebuilding the destroyed buildings was slow.Thus,in the meantime,rents got more costly and people had to crowd together in an apartment or live on streets in squatters they built,deteriorating the condition of living.

*As a result of these poor living conditions,living spaces became cramped and unhygienic,causing outbreaks of diseases that led to unhappiness,dissatisfaction and widespread communism

↳pneumatic waste conveyance system(PWCS)is an automated system.Its benefits is that it improves living environment,is environmentally friendly and recycles the waste.
PUNGGOL ECO TOWN
↳HDB chose Punggol to be refurbished into the 1st eco town in Singapore.This project focuses on how the architecture allows residents to be closer to nature and lead a greener lifestyle,its landmarks being 1,Waterway Point and 2,Treelodge@Punggol.
SOLARNOVA
↳SolarNova programme is led by the Economic Development Board(EDB)and HDB to accelerate deployment of solar photovoltaic(PV)systems in Singapore and growth of Singapore’s solar industry.This programme uses natural light thus decreasing amount of fossil fuels used to generate the same amount of electricity.
INNOVATIONS
↳HDB is constantly innovating to improve livability for residents.These innovations incorporates technology to increase productivity,sustainable initiatives, and green technologies for the urban landscape.
SMART HDB TOWN
↳the smart HDB framework consists of
