My take-away is that being community nurse is difficult yet fulling. It's not easy because you will have a lot of patient and we have to determine the health status of each member. But when you already see the people in the community, I can feel the sense of like it's a call of duty.

Throughout the 2 weeks rotation, I have learned the responsibilities of a community health nurse. Instead of caring for just an individual, you plan and care for the whole family instead. You don't visit the family with the intent of receiving gifts, you visit with a purpose and objective.

RLE 104 rotation taught me how important it is for a community to have a healthcare team in order to cater the needs of an individual, family, and community. As they will bring the care a community/ family needs in order to recover and reach their optimal physical well-being. For us future nurses, it may be difficult at first, but seeing the satisfaction and relief from the eyes of our patients in a community brings us the feeling of fulfillment.

The main point that I have realized or learned from this RLE CHN rotation was the simple fact of how to conduct and emphasize the importance of family case studies. As most of our topics and lessons revolve around these points, these only deepened the knowledge and helped me categorize ideas that would definitely assist me on my time on nursing patients. I look forward to actually conducting a nursing home visit when the time comes. For I want to experience on how to do one and utilize what I have learned from this rotation.

After finishing this rotation, I learned a lot from Sr. Nuestro. To sum it up, I became more concerned about the healthcare system of the Philippines. Also, having family as a client is being able to maintain their wellness, prevent, control, and resolve problems to achieve health and wellness among the family members.

The 2 weeks rotation in CHN instilled a learning to me of different ways on how to prepare and understand a family. It gives me insights about the family nursing process that is centered on family rather than its individual. It introduced me to the concept of family coping index as well as preparation of nursing home visits. A bag technique was also shown that gives me the impression of performing nursing procedures with ease and dexterity. Moreover, I also encountered real health situations in the Philippines, looking beyond and realizing how depressed areas are unable to achieve their right to health.

My significant takeaway from Community Health Nursing is the importance of being involved in my own community. Additionally, being a nurse is not only about providing care for individuals but also for their families and the community as a whole. I have also learned that the family and community are the biggest factors that affect the health status of an individual. This course has really helped me better understand what community health nursing entails and what I can do as a future nurse.

First and foremost, I would like to thank sir Nuestro for providing us the knowledge we need for the Community Health Nursing RLE even if we are not exposed to the real community. I truly appreciate and enjoyed the lectures and videos we had. With all the reflections and realizations we have done, I learned to value my family more deeply which pushes me harder to learn and share my knowledge in order to achieve optimum health for all. 💖💖💖

Having a community health team is an integral part of a community to preserve and promote health and wellness to the people, being a community health nurse is a challenge in itself that is different at a hospital setting. You will get more interactions with the people and it will test how the nurse can utilize resources and how the nurse socializes with the people and how the nurse's ability to teach and provide health care at the same time. The most important thing that I learned is how a family can interact and be part of a community and how it also affects the family itself when it comes to interacting with the community. Being able to distinguish health risks and threats and being able to properly diagnose and teach a family on how to optimize the dynamic of the family to have a better relationship between each members and be an integral part of the community as its members.

I learned a lot from the past 2 weeks. I learned how important as a nurse and member of a community to be involved in the family nursing process. I became more empathetic and eager to be involved in changing the flaws of our healthcare system. I realized the significance of having a great foundation in a home, and how it will contribute to the betterment of the community. I wanted to thank Sir Nuestro for being a great example to us, and for nurturing our passion.
