- I particularly liked how subjective this idea was as not everyone will interpret a piece of artwork the same way. This made it very interesting when looking for art pieces to dance in front of, as well as what everyone thought the appropriate choreography was for each piece of artwork. This is what made our roles so important, as it would’ve been very crowded if everyone was trying to get their point of view of what they thought worked for each section. However, the fact that we are all so individual, we were able to get inspired by one another and that’s what made our concept video even stronger.

- The inspiration for dancing in front of the graffiti art was taken from the video ‘Bombin’ a 1987 documentary on YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEbh97UbIgM&t=263s ). This inspired us to use the graffiti walls in the first place and the rest came when we were there. We thought the graffiti walls would bring more inspiration to us as dancers as we are all quite hip hop and commercially inclined; compared to using something softer and more neutral which we think would’ve probably brought out a more lyrical and contemporary style.

- As the music we decided to use had no lyrics, it made it a little bit more difficult for us to choreograph to it, especially the hip hop bits I choreographed with Tom. The song was very repetitive and each movement had to be unique to each of the art pieces.

- This made it challenging as we had to take more time when we were in central as part of the dances had to be done when we did find a piece of art work and choreograph on the spot. That also meant changing things on the spot whether they worked, and looking back at the filming footage to see if the dance matched the art work, as well as checking the filming perspective.

- A thing I did to make this easier was having dance moves I knew I wanted to incorporate to the music video. This made it easier to work with as the basic parts were done and we just had to incorporate linking steps that portray the art work behind us.

- As this was a concept video, I was inspired by the music videos dance formations and therefore used a variety of change within the dancers. I especially liked the way our trio (Teo, Maisy and Liv) looked on camera as we used formation changes within the dance; one person in front and two people off their shoulder made the choreography match the aspect of a dance video.

- Another formation that worked particularly well was the formation on the stairs, as the use of levels and mirroring of the choreography made the concept video look different. When we found graffiti that wasn't too crowded in the background we decided that that was the moment we could focus more on making the formations interesting, as it wouldn't have taken away from the piece of artwork.

- After searching for some more songs, I found the song ‘Omen’ by Sam Smith and Disclosure, which to my surprise had a good mixture between slow bits and more uptempo beats. I searched up a karaoke version as we didn’t want the lyrics to influence our movement and therefore that was the song we decided to use for our concept video.

- Teo: choreographer and producer. Using the videos that inspired us in the first place, I used them to choreograph sections with Tom. I also helped Carlie with what angles worked for each of the sections as I wanted certain parts of the choreography to be highlighted and assisted Carlie for the end of each section to work with her transitions.

- Tom: choreographer. We decided to assign two people on choreography as we need different ideas that would contrast with the art work and one person would either run out of ideas or the ideas would be too similar in-between each other. This was good as Tom and I assisted each other and made the choreography stronger.

- Liv: costume and make up. She decided to go with a neutral grey and black tones as it wouldn’t disrupt with the art work behind us, therefore making it quite easy to focus on the dance moves and take away from the main focus of the music video.

- Carlie: videographer and editor. She used the videos we were influenced by to use the camera and angles she filmed at look interesting. She then went home and edited the dance videos we took to all match the music and make the transitions as flawless as possible. She was a massive asset to our group and bringing all her filming equipment into central as well as editing this video, she was always on top of things and made sure to try all of our ideas to make sure we have multiple clips to choose from.

- Maisy: music. As we used the full song, there wasn’t much editing that needed to be done by Maisy, but she helped me out when finding the songs and made the definite decision in the song we used. She also stepped up when we needed a decision to be made, as well as, taking over the role of the director when they weren’t there.

- Ellie: director.

- Another issue we faced, was the fact we weren’t allowed to film in the Tate modern gallery. We resolved this by taking photos of the art and using Carlie’s editing skills; we filmed the choreography that inspired us as individuals in the studio and adding the art work next to it in our concept video.

- This showed that everyones idea of what the art represents is so different and unique to each individual and we were very excited that we got to get such a different sort of dancer in our concept video.
