Meals on Wheels is a nationwide organization that delivers hot and cold meals to people who cannot reach outside resources. It is a volunteer opportunity and many people have fun with the association.

How it Works
Meals on Wheels gets hot cooked meals from a factory in northern Missouri, and they're shipped to different locations around the state. The meals are put in bags, and so are the cold meals. The cold meals are packed at the church locations, which include things like fruit, milk, bread, sauce, or ice-cream. The hot meals are put in trays to stay warm. Then we put them in bags to keep them warm. Lori explained to us how things work, and how people at Meals on Wheels like to help people in need. Next, we started loading bags of cold food. We load two meal sets, one cold and one hot. We loaded bread, fruit, milk, crackers, and a treat into the bags. The hot meals were already pre-packaged, so all we had to do was load them into the  cars to take them on meal routes.
Day 2- We continued loading cold and hot meal bags. Today they got chicken wraps with peaches, a bread roll, hot sauce, milk, and apple pie. We loaded the hot food trays and cold food bags into cars for the routes.
Day 3-  Today was BIRTHDAY DAY! Once a month, Meals on Wheels packs the bags with extra food for people. I liked Meals on Wheels because you help people in need. It was a good experience for me because I got to help people in need. It felt good because I got to help people. I learned that people from the Kansas City area get a meal if they need one. It inspires me to ow give  to people in need and not just think of my self.

I loved working with Meals on Wheels! I thought the people there were very nice to us and I love the way they run things there. We were given about 8 addresses, and 2 packs of cold and hot meals. We had to have the meals delivered before 12:00, so we had to start at about 11:00. The whole process took about an hour, so our timing was done well. We met lots of elderly people that loved to see someone as young as us deliver meals to them. It made us happy to see them smile. Meals on Wheels was a really good experience for me. I got to help out people in need. It felt good to give help out people. The help that ran  Meals on Wheels were so helpful and kind. I am so glad I want to Meals on Wheels because I got to help out people. Meals on Wheels was a great experience because I got see how they packed the food. If I could go to Meals on Wheels again I would go. I liked that everyone help out and made sure everyone had a good meal. I am glad I got to help out people it felt good.

Meals on Wheels is a fantastic organization for people who do not have access to outside of their homes to provide food for themselves. I love that it helps people who cannot physically or mentally cook for themselves. I would definitely love to work and help out for them again. I think if any organization helps people in need, it is a great organization. Meals on Wheels falls into that category. Their main focus is to provide for people that cannot help themselves, focusing  on the older, more elder age group. Without Meals on Wheels, many elderly people would not be able to provide for themselves. I love that many people everyday  take time out of their days to help other people. Meals on Wheels volunteers and workers are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Hopefully, Meals on Wheels will be an organization that continues for a very long time. I hope people appreciate it and I hope Meals on Wheels workers will get the recognition they deserve.
