I went back to visit my family over the December break, and had an excellent time. I have my Ph.D in English, am trained as a medievalist, and work as a senior lecturer in the English department; however, I am currently working towards my MLT. If everything goes as planned, I will be graduating in May, and looking for a new job. So, in the next five years, I'm hoping to have a position as a full-time instructional designer. I have a BFA in Fine Arts from The Cleveland Institute of Art, an Ma in Ed from Ursuline College, a Master Teacher and Lead Teacher Endorsement, and am in my second year of MLT with The Ohio State University. I was a designer  (for nearly 15 years) of wallpaper, fabric with clients all over the world before going back to school to become an art teacher. I have been an upper elementary art teacher for 16 years now.
I am married, and have two kids. My son is in grad school at CWRU and my daughter is senior art student at CSU.
Fun facts about me: I have over 640 students grace my art room every week; I love looking for junk to turn into treasure. Also, I try to draw or journal every day.
Five years from now I hope that I am still teaching art, but also have become a freelance instructional designer.

In 5 years, it would be great to be deep in a PhD program.   Still narrowing down where my interests could be put to good use - there are so many directions to go in the field of learning. And as an older student, I have some great news for everyone - lifelong learning is fun. Religion, math, history - so many interesting subjects are available to us. Strangely, although I attend classes full time in Columbus, I actually live in Cleveland on the days that I’m not in class, so this online format is allowing me to be home more this semester!
