1. Which types of mentor texts did you engage with this week? Which one was the most interesting to you?
This week I engaged with the movie interstellar written and produced by Christopher Nolan.
2. How did this text challenge or expand your understanding of the future?
The film explored the possibility of traveling through space and trying to find other other planets to live on as the earth is becoming uninhabitable with food shortage and constant dust storms. With the focus all on saving the human race and trying to find another suitable planet, many ethical dilemmas are faced throughout the movie with so many lives at stake some hard decisions have to be made. I imagine this to be the case in the future if we don't take action to save our earth. I also believe that one day other suitable planets will be found to live on and we may one day travel there.
3. Did this text raise any questions, excitement, or uncertainties about the future? If so, what are they?
Watching the events that unfold in the future it makes me worry if this is where the world is heading. We may one day have to leave the planet and save the human race by moving to another planet far away in space.
