Buying things with credit was the new way to buy things, to be able to buy stuff and then pay for it later sounded like a cool concept but it just lead people into some crazy debt.

In the 1920s the factory business was going nuts, thanks to Henry Ford and his assembly line. Making product faster meant there was more of it to distribute also making the product cheaper in the process.
