Their primary goal was to replace inupiat religion to Christianity. The missionaries wanted to show Inuit the way of living and show them educations and business and just the white way of living.

The missionary started to offer school, doctors, business and other things to the inupiat and this would help them become christian. The missionary learnt how to speak inupiat and their practices so that this would help missionaries to bring christianity to inupiat. Christians were making natives not feel so good and this made them feel bad.

The missionary's made the inupiat and Inuit stop believing in shamanism. The Inuit started to practice the Sabbath from the outsiders. The native people stopped living in sod houses and started to make their own house. Inuit started to marry just one partner and this was starting to choose their own marriage and this is what christianity says. The indigenous people started to lose their language.

I think that the missionaries were just using inuits for what they can do and how they can survive. If the missionaries didn't come I think that the Inuit would live a happier and safe life. There would be no sickness and they wouldn't hurt or traumatize a lot of Inuit.

The missionaries came up to North and started to come in Inuit lives and they did a lot of things that could change inuits lives for a very long time and this was in a good way but a lot of them was not very great for Inuit. Some missionaries were good with Inuit and some were not that good. They came to the North so they could teach them christianity and give them educations and work.

The government bought reindeer from Siberia and brought from Russia to Alaska. The church/ missionaries taught how to hunt the reindeer and people were getting paid to take care of the reindeer. The inupiat would have trapping cause this was another way of making money so that they can get food or tea and other things. Trapping was the option cause the herding was not that great at making money cause they. had hard time keeping track and losing money.

Inuit were dying because lack of food and disease and not many health care. The government wanted to fix the problem by herding so that they can have food and be healthier and if they had no food they would get sick.

When the government made this thing happen it was a little to hard for everyone and the herd was starting to grow so much and it was hard to tell who herd is who's. The reindeer were mixing with the caribou so this made people hunting the caribou but they would kill the reindeer by accident and this is how people in the area would lose money and this would cause problems.

The government wanted to start letting Inuit to take care of the reindeer/ herding them and the Inuit can get paid by doing this and this would motivate them and they can sell the meat and make some more money. The government called this apprentice and this was a 4 year thing so they can help make things organize. Another impact would be that Inuit would have no money and then sometime have money and this was bad cause some people didn't keep track of their herd and sometimes people killed their reindeer by accident so this wasn't a really good business for Inuit.

When trapping was happening they would want to go alone and this would make not much time with family and this would break the relationship and they would want to go trapping to make the most money they can.

I think that the government was doing something they think was good but actually wasn't that great for Inuit and if they didn't come and tell people to herding they would be better without them and would not break families apart by tapping. The Inuit were doing good before they came and they would have done a lot of things differently cause they knew how to be okay and live off the land.

Whalers came to the Arctic because they seen a huge success in making money by hunting whales and selling it to all counties that we really interested in them. Whalers hunted so much where they almost killed them all and a lot of Inuit worked hard and they didn't get much food and a lot of them died.

The waters were hiring inuits to go on the hunt so that they can help the whalers cause they didn't know the area and needed Inuit knowledge and they also hired Inuit woman to cook and fix cloths.

Whalers came to the North to hunt whales because this was making so much money in the States and Europe cause it was popular for a lot of countries. They hunt the whales for their fat and baleen to make stuffs for people and baleen was used for making a woman's waist smaller.

The whalers almost hunted all the whales and they just hunted them for supplies and not for food. And a lot of Inuit were dying of starvation cause there were no food for them. This impacted Inuit cause to this day we can only hunt 1 whale per year.

If the whalers didn't come hunt all the whales we would still be able to hunt as many as we want. The whalers just wanted to use inuits to hunt them and I think that they wouldn't get paid that much even though the whalers had made tons of money. The whalers did a huge thing to almost extinct the whales and this almost got Inuit to stop hunting them .

The outsiders came to the Inuit places and got everyone sick and they forced people to get married and they were forced to pick a new partner if their partner had died. There was this big sickness and killed a lot of Inuit and this left inuits to suffer sickness and they didn't't have this cause they were healthy.

The government went to the church and told all the people that survived they said to get married and pick their kids cause some of their parents had died from the sickness. And the relationship they had was not really good cause the government forced them to get married and this was leaving them with no choice and that was so bad.

I think the government was a really bad thing cause this affected inuits so much where a lot of sickness started coming up and trauma started to happen and this goes on for a lot of generations, so I think if the outsiders didn't come we would still live a healthy life style and not be forced to do anything.

There were a lot of outsiders that came to the indigenous place and they got them so sick and this was called the Spanish influenza and this made a lot of Inuit sick and a lot even died and some babies had no mom so people had to go kill reindeer and make bone broth so that they can feed the babies. There were so many deaths from this flu and they couldn't find any place to put their bodies. This impacted Inuit cause they go sick and this sickness is going for generations and if they didn't come they would still feel better and have a healthy lifestyle.
