After observing the wars he changed politically and he converted to Christianity.

- Modernism was a literary and cultural movement that aimed to break away from past tradition. After the Romantic period, which focused on nature and being, Modernists mused on the topics of the inner self and consciousness. Modernists saw humanity dwindling as the world around them was industrialized and events of war took place.
