         <title>1820 - The Missiouri Compromise</title>

Missouri later on became a slave state with Maine becoming a free state at the time. The Missouri Compromise led to the Civil War because of the sectional tension that it caused over slavery. The Wilmot Proviso led up to the Civil War because it was unsuccessful proposal that was very good and would've been very impactful. The Compromise of 1850 lead to the Civil War because it had the Fugitive Slave Act which gave authority to arrest anyone who was accused of being a runaway slave.
