He writes again after he met her, which reveals an artistic and sensitive side, something very personal and different from the role he has in the office and when he’s around the other policemen. All of that makes him more human.
The reader has compassion for Conde because he opens up to Karina so much, leaving himself very vulnerable. He’s not this impenetrable and heartless detective and the reader can realize it through his relation with Karina.

This format allows us to be creative in the page setting and the visual aspect we wanted to give to our presentation. We can do almost whatever we want in terms of organization of pictures and texts. I could spend hours aligning them to please my artistic soul.  

It is also practical given that each one can add information and see what others put on it in real time. A good point to remedy to the fact that it was almost impossible to find a single hour to meet, all of us having different schedules. 

I found quite difficult to know how much information to put on the Padlet. During the oral presentation, I saw that other groups had a lot of written information. However, we preferred to make it more visual. Actually, for our subject, pictures speak as well as words (which might explain the difference with some other groups).

The main negative aspects are the speed of the website, as it is quite frustrating and a waste of time to wait 30 seconds to see the text appearing or the image moving, and the sharing of the Padlet with other members and the teacher, which I had to do many times before it actually worked.

The only details I did not like are the low speed of appearance of the text on screen and the limitation editing the text. Maybe we just did not discover how to do it, but I would have liked to be able of using the tab key, different fonts, justified text… And this is not a contra but an observation: if we use the padlet for presenting, I understand that it should work as visual support. I had problems following the presentations in which the padlet was full of text, because first, I could not see it properly even though I was in first line, and second, it was difficult even for the people presenting it to find the information (because of the constant movement I guess).

About the topic we had to work with, it was really interesting to look for information about Karina. ‘Femme fatale’ sounds powerful but it is, in fact, a different way of seeing women as a problem, as the ones who put men in trouble, so I am glad we had the opportunity of showing how Karina is a strong and independent woman.

 

I remember though when the 1^st group did their presentation, I was shocked to see so much text on it and people struggling to find their part. We preferred it to be straight forwarded with key words and images for this reason, but we then realized we had to adapt the Padlet and added more content (full sentences).

About the subject, I found it interesting to do a presentation on the only strong female character (too many men!) and within a group. It allowed us to share our different interpretations and to analyze in depth some details of Karina’s personality. I suppose that the presentation wouldn’t have been the same if we weren’t a team of only female students!
