The education in Argentina is in decline?

Martina Zubiaurre, Facundo Bravo.

In this opportunity, we want to talk about how education in schools in Argentina, our country, has brutally declined over the years, how students see the school today and about how we can make this space a more meaningful place. Many people think that after '90s education was becoming obsolete due to the time, we definitely agree with this idea, for several reasons.

In the first place, we believe that the structure of some schools is poor and this affects to the students and teachers. In many places the structure of the schools is deplorable due to the age of the buildings, for example, broken walls, broken blackboards, etc. All this does that the environment in the school be ugly and uncomfortable.

In second place, in all the schools exist a big problem: some teachers don’t want to teach or they don’t have the patience to teach. The teachers are a very important part in the education and they can do that a boring subject become a meaningful subject and vice versa, for this is important that the teachers can share their knowledge of good form because they have the responsibility to teach and get students interested in learning.

Finally, the way of teaching ends up being a problem too, because it’s obsolete for these days because this is the same form to teach since the beginnings and with all the technology that we have today is crazy that we continue using the same form to learn.

To conclude, we have a lot of things to do better in the school but this is a long way and we have to start change now because if we don’t change now, we will have problems in the future, the world change, the people change, why the education not?

Is education meaningful for students in Sabato?

A group of teenagers investigated about the education in Sabato and what the students in there think about it with the goal of making students feel comfortable. Many of them answered that the education in their school was meaningful.

In the first place, the teenagers were asked about their favorite subject, some answered that they choose the subject independently of the teacher they have, meanwhile, junior students said that their least favorite subject was because of the teacher. Nevertheless, school used to be really different. In the past schools were controlled by the church, the focus was on the teacher and schools were for boys only, but due to Sarmiento’s actions the school became public, free, common, egalitarian, and nowadays the teachers help students to get better at school and progress. Finally, Sabato has a beautiful natural surrounding that makes learning more enjoyable and this is one important factor to reach a meaningful education. Also, to make education more meaningful the students proposed to add tv shows, art, to add an emotional aspect, and a place for exchanging ideas between the teacher and the students, because it would help to accept others opinions.

In summary, the students of Sabato agree that the education is meaningful. They feel comfortable and enjoy being there while learning in a regular way with different activities. Also, if Sarmiento hadn’t worked in education, we wouldn’t have the schools we have in the present.

IZARRIAGA-BORDA

The history of education in Argentina is large, we saw different presidents or important people, for example Faustino Sarmiento during his presidency, he built more than 800 public schools. Years later, Carlos Menem pursued privatization in reaction to the economic crisis. We are against it due to the fact that education is very important and the people have access.

In the first place, today the education system is different than in the past, in the past only boys had access to school but, today, boys and girls can access education, also the students are very important because of no students no school, the schools are closed. Furthermore, today the education system considers that the students are more important.

According to the statistics, the favorite subjects are independent of the teacher, for example art or gym. Education in Sabato is meaningful because it is the only national school in tandil. The sabato students go out to prepare for university.

Teachers use alternative forms to teach, for example they use games, videos, movies, etc. In geography, 2021, the teacher showed us the song “Latinoamerica” to teach the situation in LATAM. Other alternative is to explore different places on school or have class outside. The students are more

focused on listening to the teacher compared to the classroom.

In education today, the EQ and IQ are very important. The IQ is the ability of a person to use information and logic to answer a question, or they solved a methodical problem to avoid the emotions. The EQ is the ability to sense emotion in yourself or other people for example, empathize.

In summary, we believe that education is very important and the alternative class is very interesting because the students' concentration is more and the teacher is very interesting. The students are very important today.

Names: Sofía Rolando y Agustín Emilio Aramburu Mantz

Level 5 students investigated the importance of school for students and how this could impact them, due to school being a creative space, or a space where students can talk about their issues, find a sense of belonging, or develop their skills. In our opinion it is very important for some students and for others because they don't finish school.

In the first place, a lot of students find the subjects of the school meaningful and interesting thanks to the teachers. Students said that a good teacher is the teacher who explains as many times as necessary and teaches in a way that students feel comfortable with, and creates a nice class.

In the second place, in Argentina, education is not given much importance and not much attention. Furthermore, many students drop out of school because they decide to go to work or prefer to be at home doing nothing, sometimes this happens with high secondary school. In early times, people went to work very young, for example

at 14 years old, and had to leave the school.

Finally, only 16% of students finish school on time and with the expected level. In Argentina, only 53 out of 100 students reach the last year of high school in the expected time.

In conclusion, some students finish high school and stress the importance of a good teacher and others don't manage to finish high school because they have to go to work.

Students: Delfina Saveljich and Yael Orellano.

A group from Sabato school, from level 5, investigated the meaning of school in our country. They did interviews with seventeen students of Sabato about the meaning of the school, and they concluded that for students, Sabato is a meaningful school, because it prepares you for University, it has interesting subjects and interaction with nature, and so on.

In Argentina, there are approximately 39000 schools, private and public. Generally, the private schools are catholic. About school in the past, we can see it was not meaningful, because the classes consisted in listening, writing and memorizing, which was very boring for the students. Now, the education system considers students more important, and students learn by putting the contents into practice. In our opinion, the schools in Argentina are good but they can be better.

In the first place, if the teachers improve the use of technology in classes, the study will be easier and faster because a lot of students know how to use technology. Furthemore, teaching with alternative methods like games, Tv shows, series, and others can be better than just sitting and writing all the class. Because of this, classes will be funnier, interesting and it may be easier for students to learn and remember better due to its entertainment.

Finally, the classes can be more dynamic, if they are in different places on the school due to this change of places, the students will be more focused on listening to the teacher, and so students can be more motivated or relaxed, for example, by being in contact with nature, or in another place that is not the usual classroom.

To conclude, in our opinion these things can make the study more dynamic and funnier for the students and at the same time improve the learning, making students pay more attention, and make them want to learn.

Is education meaningful for students in Sabato?

Kaoru Cranca y Milagros Marino

President Domingo Faustino Sarmiento was so interested on making a better

education system in Argentina. He built more than 800 schools due to the fact that schools should be public, free and common, and the same for girls and boys. We are in favour of this topic, because of several reasons.

In the first place, here in Sabato, students have university’s teachers that prepare them for the future they want to choose. Also, when the students from level five made an investigation, they discovered that, on a big percentage, students have chosen Sabato by themselves because they had heard good things about the school.

In second place, here in Sabato the students learn and have lessons in a regular way, and also have different activities that students like. For example, we have the Spring's Day, where we play games and have some fun. Furthermore, in this school, a lot of students find the subjects meaningful and interesting due to the teachers. This is because if students have a teacher who explains as many times as necessary and teaches in a way that students feel comfortable with, it creates a nice class.

Finally, the education system in Sabato considers that the students are more important, which makes more relevant lessons, because the main thing is that students learn, putting into practice the learning in their social life. Also, we believe that, if students had learnt with games, TV shows and artistic stuff, they would have better results. This is due to the fact that nowadays, teenagers are used to working a lot with technology, making their studies faster and easier than they were before, where students used to go to libraries to search for any information.

In summary, in our opinion, in the past, the focus of the class was on the teacher, and it was about listening, writing and memorizing, which was boring and a little sad, but now, classes are more different, students feel that they can share their ideas without feeling judged, and it

becomes a place where the student can talk about anything and exchange arguments on topics that teachers explain. And we think that this exchange of ideas between students and teachers, or just among students, would have a big brainstorm as a result of many different ideas and opinions.

Juan Martin Ibañez- Nicolas Gallardo

Education is a public good, a personal and social right of people, of which the State is the one who must guarantee it. It also determines that it is mandatory between the ages of four and 17 or 18.

Public education, which is compulsory, is essential so that all people can learn and achieve the objectives they set for themselves as they grow up, whether it is pursuing a university degree or going to work, a full primary and secondary degree is required. Teacher’s day is commemorated due to the death of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento who put emphasis on the educational system, thinking that the school had to be for everyone like the European system and because of this, he built around 800 public schools.

Juan Manuel Estrada promoted that the university be in charge of the secondary level because it was in the hands of catholic church. During the government of Hipolito Yrigoyen, around 3,000 primary schools were founded, this caused the ill literate population, mostly children of the school age, to decrease considerably.

When Carlos Menem was in the presidency he sought the privatization of the and different services such as trains to face the economic crisis.

Finally, we are in favor of public education because we all have the right to be able to learn and grow, since it is not only going to study at the school but also creating links with other people and being able to feel that it is your home.

In summary, in our opinion public education is good because that way everyone can access it without having to pay anything.

There are many schools in Argentina, and the education is important to the future of the teens. Also as an educational space, it is a place of inclusion and learning.

the system educational is divided in three parts the kinder, primary and secondary.

First of all, education in Argentina is good for us, but there are differences between public and private. Normally private schools are more strict and serious. some public schools have the same level as these. Also education is important for life, manners and things that are learned from kinder to university. All levels of education are important because they are needed to study and receive, but the most important things is manners because it serves you for life and make you a better person. Going back to public and private schools this is because the economic situation of Argentina is very bad.

In second place, the level of education is not bad, this is important for our future because we will know more for university, if we choose to study.

In our opinion, education should improve due to the importance of life. Many parents believe that the education their students receive in school (State or Private) does not fit the level of education required due to the lack of teacher training, lack of resources, and so on. We agree with many of these opinions, for different reasons.

Throughout, many years people proposed different ideas for example:

Sarmiento proposed that education be connected throughout the country the school must be public, free and common, and without differences between men and women according to UNESCO, Today Argentine children and youth are performing below the regional average in educational terms.

In the 2020 pandemic, students needed internet access or cellphone at home, but many didn't. Many people think that the school are losing more important and interesting whit the past of the time, and we try to know why are this and how can change the school.

Personal opinion

Our personal opinion we think that school in Argentina are so meaningful because in the first place the school plant the same program of study every years, this has so low changes and do the class so boring for the students and the teachers because if the class want to talk about different ideas or many topics how are more interesting relationship whit the thematic of the class or not the teacher need to explain this theme exactly the book say, making a boring class and this lose interesting in the children. In the second place the calcification systems are not good because oblige the teachers to put a numeral note in specific time this make the class a race for a note, all the class are more focus in win the seven then knows the information of the class and understand the ideas. Other bad point in the school are the inability to help the students in personal problems, the school in Argentina doesn't have a good physiologic team this idea in we opinion are one of the most important point because the school are a so important stage in the humans lives in this stage the people define big part of his personality.

Conclusion

In conclusion the school in the Argentina are so bad this needs a new plant and change many forms become the same plant of study every years is being obsolete.
A meaningful education (Logroño, Goñi)

In the past many important figures believed that education was meaningful and important for life, like for example Sarmiento who used to think that education and schools should be public, free and common, and the same for boys and girls. At the end of this essay we will give our opinion about education in sabato, and if we believe it is meaningful or not.

In the present, the education can be meaningful for the student or not, depending on many aspects, now we will talk and reflect about some of them: The student’s own interest in the subjects is really important, because you can’t teach to someone anything at all if that person doesn’t care and doesn’t give a bit of him for learning. The relation that he has with his partners and the teacher, it can be even more important than the interest of the student, because a class can't move on without the willingness of the teacher to teach the subject, and the partners to support and help. This last thing takes us to something that is also important but not always seen: all this can, and will, determine the created atmosphere of the class.

In our opinion, the education in Sabato is meaningful because of everything we have talk about before: we have excellent teachers that listen to their students and answer any question that can be given and try to prepare us for the university, but also we have an atmosphere of trust and companionship due to a strong tie group in general.
