I wonder what it is like for Melodyś parents. They both have jobs they have two children one very little which is hard and one with disabilities, which is super hard. Even though they have the help of Mrs. V they must be true super stars to do all that and keep a happy attitude. (17)

I can infer that Melody will make the quiz team because she is the smartest out of everyone in the school; and shes had lots of practice with Mrs. V studying for it. (153)

One part that really painted a picture in my mind is when Melody's goldfish jumped out of his tank and Melody couldn't do anything about it. I think the author did a great job with that chapter and did a great job painting the picture in my mind. (78)

The main event in the story is when melody is competing with the quiz team to go to DC. Everything in the story was leading up to that point (climax) and it is when she is finally at her happiest in the book. Even though she missed the plane to DC and that was also a big part, I feel like her competing on TV was the biggest event in the book. (224)

I think Melody Brooks changes a lot throughout the book. But I feel like the main change was when Melody could finally talk with her new computer. That was a huge change because now she could finally talk and communicate with her parents and tell the that she loves them. (145)

The theme of the book is that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. This is shown when an unlikely protagonist, Melody fulfills her goal and shows that she is truly the smartest person at the school. (233)

A girl named Melody is born with many disabilities but she learned to overcome those (46). She eventually builds up enough courage to join the quiz team and gets 50/50 on her first test and 100/100 on her second test (202). Then shes does great and qualifies her team to go to DC (224) but later her team ditched her and went to DC without her (245). This makes Melody mad and she confronts them and everything almost went back to normal (293).

This book was amazing and taught me a lot of things about life. It was 295 pages long but all of them left you on a cliff hanger and made you want to read more. I would stay up late every night because I did not want to stop reading this book. The book is pretty sad and ends sad but it is an amazing book. I also love the story of Melody and it makes me wonder if this was real life.
