Honduran Independence Day

Honduras celebrates their Independence Day on September 15 every year. They celebrate the independence of the Central American provinces from Spain in 1821. On this holiday the people of Honduras celebrate their culture and history with parades, dances, and songs throughout the day.

Republic Day

A public holiday in Turkey commemorating the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey. The holiday celebrates the events of 29 October 1923, when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk declared that Turkey was henceforth a republic. It is celebrated every year for 35 hours. It is celebrated with parades, decorations, balloons, clothing, and fireworks. ( which all of these are usually in the colors of white and red.) And the grave of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk is visited by more than a hundred thousand people per day.

Both countries celebrate their holiday every year and dress up in the colors of their flag.

They honor their country and celebrate their culture.

Differences

Even though these holidays seem similar there are also differences in them. The Turkish Republic Day lasts 35 hours while the Honduran people celebrate their Independence Day for the whole month even though it's just on the 15th of September. Another difference would be that even though both communities celebrate their country, the Turks seem to show more respect to the man that brought them independence.
