- Fitzgerald wanted us to see that even though it's good to have our sights on the stars but we also need to keep ourselves grounded or we'll lose ourselves completely like Gatsby did
- Gatsby was ambitious and determined, that's something a lot of can identify with that will lead us a to a good life. Gatsby was also trapped in the past and couldn't stop wanting more, we should distance ourselves from this side of Gatsby
- Something that Nick has always admired about Gatsby, from start to finish, was how hopeful he was. What Nick didn't like was his desperation, the desperation for Daisy, for a wealthy and extravagant life style.

-Fitzgerald wanted us to see Gatsby how he saw people from his time of being alive. Fitzgerald shows us that Gatsby is very much persistent in trying to live his life how it was five years ago, with him and Daisy being in "love", Gatsby is indeed having a mindset of living in the past.
-Fitzgerald identifies Gatsby as a man with a logical reason, because almost all of his actions seem very normal and non-weird in his mind.
-Nick doesn't much approve of some of Gatsby's actions because some of those seem illogical to him and to the audience.
