In our first session, we did a little taaruf between usrah members. We were given the task to draw what symbolizes ourselves, it's like a signature ourself I think. I decided to draw a racket with a shuttle, because I love sports so much. I like it when people invite me to play badminton, running, cycling. I often cycle with my younger brother and my father at home, when I return home it is our family activity. I love sport because my family also loves it.

after the taaruf session, we started our lesson by listening to Sr. Ainin's sharing about "Acquisition of Hikmah and Ibadah”. She thought us about Niyyah , Amal dan Ihsan . the most highlighted thing is about Hikmah, as we all know everything that has happened must have wisdom behind it. In order to prevent us from thinking badly about bad things happening, we need to understand what "Hikmah” is.

APPLICATION OF SALAH BASED ON SITUATIONS

The application of Salah (prayer) varies depending on specific situations, as Islam provides flexibility to accommodate different circumstances while maintaining the importance of this pillar of worship. Here are some examples of how Salah is applied based on situations:

1. Traveling (Salat al-Qasr and Jama’)

When traveling, Muslims are allowed to shorten (Qasr) and combine (Jama') their prayers:

Qasr: Dhuhr, Asr, and Isha are shortened from 4 raka’ahs to 2 raka’ahs.

Jama': Combining two prayers, e.g., Dhuhr with Asr or Maghrib with Isha, either at the earlier time (Jama’ Taqdim) or later time (Jama’ Ta’khir).

2. Illness or Physical Limitations

If a person is unable to stand due to illness, they can pray sitting. If sitting is not possible, they can pray lying down or using gestures. This ensures they can still fulfill their obligation regardless of physical limitations.

3. Fear or Danger (Salat al-Khawf)

In situations of fear or danger, such as during war or natural disasters, Salah can be performed in a modified manner. This includes praying in shifts, shortening the prayer, or praying while walking or riding, depending on the circumstances.

THE VIRTUES FOUND IN SAWM

Sawm (fasting) in Islam is a highly virtuous act of worship, particularly during the month of Ramadan. It is not only an obligation but also a source of immense spiritual and moral benefits. Here are the key virtues found in fasting:

1. Attaining Taqwa (God-Consciousness)

The primary purpose of fasting is to develop taqwa, as Allah mentions in the Qur’an:
"O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous." (Surah Al-Baqarah: 2:183)
By abstaining from food, drink, and sins, fasting fosters self-discipline and a heightened awareness of Allah’s presence.

2. Forgiveness of Sins

Fasting with sincerity and devotion leads to the forgiveness of past sins. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
"Whoever fasts during Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, his past sins will be forgiven." (Bukhari and Muslim)

3. Multiplication of Rewards

The rewards for fasting are immense and unique. Allah says:
"Fasting is for Me, and I will reward it." (Bukhari and Muslim)
This indicates that fasting holds a special place among acts of worship, with rewards beyond human comprehension.

Zakat& Sadaqah: Purify your wealth, enrich your soul.

Zakat and Sadaqah are acts of charity that hold immense value in Islam, serving both spiritual and social purposes. Zakat, one of the Five Pillars of Islam, is an obligatory charity given annually to purify one’s wealth by redistributing a portion to the needy. It fosters a sense of social justice, eliminates greed, and brings blessings (barakah) to one's earnings. Allah says:
"Take, [O Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allah's blessings] upon them." (Surah At-Tawbah: 9:103)

Sadaqah, on the other hand, is voluntary charity given at any time, in any amount, or form—be it money, a kind word, or even a smile. Unlike Zakat, it is not obligatory but is highly encouraged as a way to cultivate generosity, strengthen faith, and draw closer to Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
"Charity does not decrease wealth." (Muslim)

Both Zakat and Sadaqah not only help the less fortunate but also purify the giver’s soul by reducing attachment to material wealth and increasing reliance on Allah. These acts build compassion, gratitude, and unity within the community while earning immense rewards in this life and the Hereafter.

Tawakkal: The Power of Trusting God's Plan while Taking Action.

Tawakkal means placing complete trust in Allah’s plan while putting in your best effort. It is a balance between relying on Allah and actively working toward your goals. True Tawakkal is not about passive reliance or inaction; rather, it is about doing everything within your capacity while trusting that Allah will guide the outcome in the best possible way.

The Qur'an emphasizes this balance:
"And rely upon Allah; and sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs." (Surah Al-Ahzab: 33:3)

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also illustrated this concept when he said:
"Tie your camel and trust in Allah." (Tirmidhi)
This means one must take practical steps while leaving the results to Allah.

Tawakkal instills peace, knowing that Allah’s wisdom is perfect, even when things don’t go as planned. It strengthens faith, removes anxiety, and builds resilience in facing life’s challenges. By combining effort with trust, believers achieve success while staying aligned with Allah’s divine plan.
