This article shares how much cannabis was sold province-by-province on legalization day. Firstly, cannabis was “flying off the shelves” in retail outlets and online stores across the country as soon as the clock struck midnight Wednesday. Then, nearly 10,000 cannabis sales were made in British Columbia on Wednesday;the Alberta province recorded around 8,300 sales; Quebec province was 42,000 cannabis orders processed on the first day of legalization, with 12,500 in-store transactions and 30,000 online orders and Nova Scotia province made 12,180 cannabis transactions on the first day of legalization and so on. A fly in the ointment is that the writer missed the largest province in Canada--Ontario.

His goal at that time just get high and nothing else. As time went on, he got the trouble with the law, ended up getting a DUI .Before going to the jail, he has a year to finish high school and apply for the college course, he try to stop weed, it is not easy at first, and he try to do something else to fill the time instead of smoking and doing nothing. Then his life is slowly change, he can focus on study, read , enjoy the life etc. However, when he was smoking weed, he did not really want to do these stuff. Finally, he realized and his life changed. Overall, I like more young people to see his stories.

The House of Commons and Senate approved the Cannabis Act, fulfilling Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s 2015 campaign promise. The Senate voted 52-29 to approve the bill to end of 90 years of prohibition.Based on the law, anyone over 18 would be able to legally possess less than 30 grams of cannabis. It would also allow Canadian adults to grow as much as 4 cannabis plants at home. While medical cannabis has been legal up in the Great White North, recreational cannabis use would give the United States a run for their money in an increasingly lucrative industry. The Canadian market for legal pot is forecaster to rake in around$4.5 billion, a figure calculated using consumption data over the last few years. Taxes, on the other hand, are expected to inject $300 million to the government’s revenues.

This picture I choose is from the center for addiction and mental health (CAMH).It shows Canada has one of the highest rates of cannabis use in the world, With 40 per cent of Canadians having used it at least once in their lifetime.10% of Canadians have used cannabis in the past year. Although possessing pot is illegal last year, a significant proportion of Canadians still use the herb. In actually, 20% of Canadian aged 15-24 years used cannabis in the past year, and 70% of Canadian cannabis is the age of 25 or older. It is not difficult to see the rate of cannabis is increasing, and more people are become habitual.

This image I downloaded on Google, and in the picture you can see a eye-catching word" jobs" on the marijuana. While still a small part of the market, marijuana-related job ads have tripled in the past year. Moreover, The job website Indeed shows a wide array of job openings, including cannabis educator, counselor, technically-knowledgeable cannabis pathologist, research and development scientist, lab analyst and extraction technician certified by the country's Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations, among other posts. Some of these jobs have a salary range of $51,000 - 120,000 Canadian dollars ($39,000 - $92,000 U.S. dollars).

With marijuana legalized in Canada, it will also bring substantial taxes to Canada. From globe news the federal government budget reaffirmed plans to apply an excise duty on marijuana, but confirmed that not all marijuana products will be affected. Through reading the globe news, I learned that on the one hand the government can invest the tax to the public education, health and drug services, and all these will promote social development. On the another hand, if the level of taxation higher than the black market price and that may encourage and basically keep the industry below ground. Therefore, the federal government should to weigh the pros ad con of it
