It was my first experience teaching in kindergarten and it was awesome. Children are quite calm and eager for learning. In my perception, time passed so quickly that I thought I had no more activities for them to work on. I should have had some extra material just in case. I want to highlight the support I have received from the monitors. They made a great contribution, if the lesson was successful it was because they were there with me. The implementation of the guitar was a good resource.

It was my second intervention being in charge of the class in kindergarten and it was great. Two weeks had passed, nevertheless the children were so affectionate and eager for learning. They were really engaged with the games and time passed fast. Also, they sang the hello song and goodbye song enthusiastically. The guitar is already part of their classroom routine. As I said before in my first self assessment, I want to highlight the support I have received from the monitors. They made a great contribution, if the lesson was successful it was because they were there with me. This group is well articulated.

The second class I taught was quite a challenge because there was a family gathering at the nursery that morning. In the end, the families wanted to pick up their children. As a result, only four pupils remained.

The children from both classrooms got together, and Priscila (Jazmin, morning shift) and I taught the class. It was a big challenge, as we had to come up with ideas on the fly and improvise some songs. Fortunately, everything went well. At that moment, I regretted not being able to do the activities as I had planned, but these are the things that help us grow and prepare us for the eventualities that may arise in our future classes

Lesson #3

During the preparation of the class, I had many doubts about how to face the new challenge or whether this was really what I wanted to do.

When the day of my first class (number 3 according to schedule) came, I felt a lot of nerves, many feelings encountered, a lot of mystery. My stomach was really creaking with fear!

At the same time I wanted to see the children again, I knew that they would show us their love as they had already done. We finally got into the classroom and there I felt the warmth of children’s love.

I completely transformed, suddenly a teacher came out inside me.

I won’t deny that I was very nervous during the course of the lesson. But yes, it was.

The children responded, followed me, had caught their attention... Especially when I introduced them to Moncho the clown, a puppet. Then with the activity we went super well. I felt more confident, although at the same time I thought to myself that everything was taught badly while feeling my throat wet.

Finally when Carla gave me the feedback, my tension finished down, she loved it and was surprised.

Lesson #9

I certainly felt more confident, though with many doubts. We entered the hall, and began to feel nerves again like the first time. This time Moncho the clown wouldn’t be, but there will be a farmer’s hat on my head that helps me feel less tension, in addition my great classmates (the rest of trainees) were in my company. 

The class was beautiful, we had fun and laughed while singing my re-version of 'Old MacDonald'. Obviously I was full of nerves and feelings again, but there I was giving my second class (the 9° according to the schedule). After the song, we moved on to the activity where students followed instructions.

At times I felt insecure about how I conducted the class, but then with our teacher’s feedback it made me feel more confident.

The class went well. This was also thanks to the monitors. They are the best!

Both classes were challenging. There are many things I need to improve, such as my tone of voice. So I will continue working on that.
