Thaddeus talks funny and says words like "graphite", "simulated rock face" and "bison". This tells me that Thaddeus thinks he's much smarter than Linus. On the other hand, Linus is a regular kid. He gets annoyed by the way his brother speaks and he also likes to spend time with his friends on the weekend. The brothers do not have a good relationship, because Thaddeus is constantly making up stories to see if Linus will believe him. On page 15 it says, "And he got me. Again." This clearly demonstrates that Thaddeus is always trying to trick Linus into believing made up stories.
