But i would like you to know a fun fact : In India , cricket is not considered as a sport but it's celebrated as a featival. Many tournaments such as the ICC WORLD CUP, IPL, ONE DAY TEST CRICKET, ETC. are played here. And you would not believe that on each tournament day, the Indian population stays at home for the whole day and have their televisions on and watch the tournaments. And also I would like to tell you that if any person in India opposes the Indian cricket community, he/she is considered as an anti-nationalist ( might be most of you are giggling after hearing this but this is true). And also I would like to suggest you some sports that you must watch : football, hockey, kabaddi, tennis, badminton, etc.

So what do you mean by a tradition of a country? The tradition of a country describes a group's belief and behaviours, legends, customs, information etc  that are passed down from one generation to another, while culture describes the shared characterists of the entire group, which has been amassed throughout it's history. Our culture and traditions and inter-dependent. A part of our culture has been influened by our age old traditions and the best example of that is our festivals. With a major festuval around the corner, i would like to tell you the story behind the festival, Diwali. Ramayana and mahabharata are a part of the world's longest epice and hold the key to immeasurable knowledge and values. I'll tell you the story in ramayana in brief. Ram was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu who had opted to be born into mortality to combat the demon Ravana, who was opressing the gods and could only be defeated by a mortal. He was the eldest son and was born to a kind called  Dashrath. He and his three brothers were sent to a gurukul for their education (which is nothing but our ancient schools) . Kaikeyi, one of the queens was brainwashed by a wicked maid servant who made it her primary goal to have her own son sit on the throne and not lord ram. Because of which ram was sent to 14 years of exile. Ram accepted his father's reluctant decree with absolute submission anf calm, self control which characterizes him throughout the story. He was joined by sita (his wife) and laxmana ( his brother) . The rest of the story is about how they spent their time in exile and Sita got abducted by the demon Ravana in the last few years of exile and how they fought for her freedom with the help of the monkey Kingdom and his biggest devotee, Hanuman. The main theme of the story is, Even when faced with unsurmountable odds and a strong opponent like Ravana, Lord Ram stood by what is right and defeated the odds. Perhaps, the most important life lesson to learn from Ramayana is thay truth always prevails and the victory of hood over evil is inevitable- do not lose hope. To honour the return of Lord Rama from his 14 years of exile and his victory over kind Ravana, people lit up diyas all over India to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness. Just like you guys have been following the tradatio of Christmas for over 2,000 years , we have been honouring our tradition and celebrating this festival for over 7,000 years. Just like thid story, each festival holds a traditional significance to it and even some of our cuisines have a special story to them. India is made up of 28 states and 8 union territories.
