Message/Theme: In this Poem Aruthur is conveying the love he has for susan. He describes how he wants her to be with him through anything and anything they go through Giving different senarios or thoughts of them being together. Basically stating that He wants her to be with him from start to finish through thick and thin.

Figurative Language: The figurative language used is when he desribes the different places they'll go and be at. for example, Dive deep into the ancient realms with me, fly to me with my woodland spites, Take life with me in the forest's crystal air. and others describing how He wants her to be apart of his life.

Poem Structure: The structure is pretty normal it repeats words and phrases such as "sail away" and "absorb my love" to further emphizes his love for susan and his and his want for her to be with him.

Tone/Mood: The tone of this is Loving aswell as the Mood, maybe slightly bitter sweet but overall loving because it describes How he wants to "sail" away with her and how he wants to love her.

What stood out the most? the repitition of "Sail away" beacause he uses that phrase many times almost like describing how he wants her to run away from problems with him and go or move on to better places which is why he also says "sail away from me with me" almost like he may be unhappy with himself or past self but still wants to be with her as a new person.

Message/Theme: Love, Heartbreak, Emotion. Love is a powerful emotion.
Figurative Language: "Her glory is my art" - The author is using his significant other as a reason to create his art. "I welcome all these gushing songs, Yet rip my life apart." It's almost like he's listening to emotional music that tears into him that amplify his emotions.
Poem Structure: The poem is structured in a chronological order I think. I presume he's either dealing with the loss or breakup of a loved one. He feels like his life is being ripped apart without the one he's writing about.
Tone/Mood: Dark tone, makes the reader question what the situation is.
What stood out the most?
The line "I sacrifice my heart to love" is what stood out to me. The author puts all that he can into loving this girl.

Theme/Message- Love

Figurative language - The poet uses figurative language to describe the beauty of the woman in the poem, describing her lips as “cherry red” and her skin as “pure as Alpine Air”. The beauty of the woman is the cause of the poet's lack of comprehension of the woman's words as she is so beautiful it is distracting.

Diction/tone- The tone in the poem at first seems reminiscent with a hint of sadness because you can tell from the past tense word choice that she is no longer with him for one reason or another . “Her skin was as pure as Alpine Air”.

What stands out- What stands out the most in this poem is how he use a hyperbole to say that because of her beauty he was never able to comprehend a single word that she said. “And I could never comprehend, A single word she had said”

Theme: Yearning for someone can be overwhelming but there is beauty in the struggle.
Figurative Language: "Tidal in the growing eyes, and the protean change of size," "Gorgeous on the groaning land moaning for a sweet demise," " Above your touch my swelling chest fills the space between the sky." These all go to show the author's longing for a woman and how the emotions that are brought out of him entirely fulfill him till the point of overwhelms. The author uses personification and hyperbole to demonstrate his emotions.
Tone: Adoration and contentment
Mood: Infatuated
What stood out: The main thing that stood out to me was how one person can make us feel so fulfilled to the point we tend to lose ourselves in them. It's good to be in love with someone but we should never let it get to a point where we make them the center of our lives and don't make time for ourselves. That can have a major impact on our mental state.
Connection: A lot of people in the world go through a phase like this in their live and for some it can be tough to somewhat overcome but with time you can. I myself have went through a mini stage like this but it took me seeing what it was doing to my mental state to focus on myself and better my own being, before I want to add someone to it.

Theme/Message: There is beauty in ever relationship
Figurative language: The author uses imagery throughout the poem to present how beautiful of a relationship he is in. For example, "I may have been in paradise" "...your sunlit hair" "And something even gorgeous in spells of midnight air" are all forms of imagery shown to give the reader more insight on how the author feels about Susan. Wood also uses repetition such as "...feeling feeling I was feeling", "...calling I was calling", and "hoping hoping I was hoping" for the same reason.
Tone: Affectionate and romantic
Mood: Hopeful and sentimental
What stood out: The author seemed to notice the small things about Susan such as the way her hair lit up in the sun, her midday spirit, and also the energy she had in the morning. This shows how much Arthur loved Susan and how hopeful he is to continue his relationship with her.
Connections: It is very common for people to go through the phase the Arthur is going through in this poem. He was so in love that he was hoping he would never have to let go of her.

There is hope for better times and for normalcy.
Figurative Language: The author used personification when he said "Dust returns to Time". Also, used personification for " Joy invades the moan" and " Glory walks in gold."
Tone: hopeful, glee, optimistic
Mood: joyful, promising, assured
What stood out: The author believes God's return to Earth will bring good things.

Poem 2 has a futuristic theme. His words repeat, "could we.. .?". Creating a wishful tone, the poet describes how he envisions his life with Susan. He tells us that his love for her is eternal, and often uses sweet foods and the beauty of nature to metaphorically speak of their ideal relationship. This combination of food and nature resembles a picnic, which can symbolize their bond as well- fresh or peaceful.

When the author uses a simile in the line, "Away from one another, as the sands" , he refers to dial hands on a clock mentioned in line 17, being separate from one another as sand separates from itself inside of an hourglass.
Tone: dreamlike, fantasizing, longing
Mood: romantic
What stood out most to me was that the rhyme pattern kept changing. The first stanza has a pattern of A B A B while the last stanza has a pattern of A B B A.

The message of this poem is about wanting to run away from life's daily grind and pass the days with your loved ones.

In stanza 1, Wood uses the phrases "where pheasants fill the soul with glee, and buzzards block out the blazing Sun." The pheasants and buzzards could represent what other people could consider as empty practices that do not make your life better and may make it worse, while the author does not think so, and the Sun may represent life's responsibilities and the pressure it brings. These buzzards and pheasants of distractions bring bliss by blocking out these distractions.

The poem is structured like a typical day, where the time passes through dawn and midnight. I believe he uses this structure in order to represent his wishes for his "day", or rather the rest of his life.

The tone of the poem is strong wanting, hopeful, but resigned. I feel like he wants this to be his life with his lover, but he knows that that can never happen, no matter how much he wants it.

What stood out the most to me was the metaphor about the buzzards and the pheasants, because unless I completely misunderstood it, it really resonates with me as a teenager with wanting the things that are not necessarily good for me.

Theme: Even through tough times, you can always prevail and look toward the future. It's important to keep going forward and to persevere.
Figurative Language: "I journey on and pad my soul with hope", "And dance despite the ken the daring telescope Can reach- and yet infinity is so ******* long", "And first on Pleasure feed and carve my glorious way!" - All of these are representing the speaker's trying effort to tackle life's dilemmas. By doing so, he speaks about surrounding his soul with hope, to continue "dancing" (endeavor) about even though he will have to for a very long time, and "carving" (striving) through existence.
Tone: Bittersweet, sentimental, nostalgic
Mood: Determination, tragicomic, poignant
What stood out: To me, what stood out the most was at the start of the poem, the speaker admits to being in a state of melancholy, even almost miserable. He portrays this girl as ‘art’. But he got hurt. The way he fell in love with this girl and ended up with a broken heart. His word choice seems very firm and concrete.
