There are many ways to access health products and services, but it's important to know when it's needed first. There's a difference between the different kinds of medical aid you can get. "There is a difference between urgent care and emergency care and what is best to seek treatment" (6). For the emergency care, "The emergency department was designed to provide fast, life- or-limb-saving care. Many people, however, use the ER as a place to receive urgent care without realizing it. If you’re ever in doubt, it’s better to be safe and go to the closest ER" (6). If you're feeling any uncertainty or pain, go seek medical help. Someone can call 911 when it's a bigger emergency than the ER, "For certain medical emergencies, such as a heart attack or stroke, taking an ambulance is safer because paramedics can deliver life-saving care on the way to the hospital" (7). Urgent care is for minor but doctor needed attention, "Urgent care departments are same-day clinics that can handle a variety of conditions that need to be treated right away but are not emergencies" (8).

My mom needed emergency care after an accident. We were getting our roof done again and the work crew left a few tools sitting on the roof. As my mom walked under the roof, a nail gun slid down and hit my mom directly on the head. We had to call 911, and we knew we couldn't drive to the ER in time. That's when we accessed professional health services.
