This amendment is important because it prevents the military from entering the private property of civilians during peace time.

This amendment is important because it guarantees the right to a speedy trial by jury in the district where the crime was committed and the opportunity to question witnesses.

"Prohibiting the federal government from imposing excessive bail, excessive fines, or cruel and unusual punishment."


This amendment is important because without the 8th amendment, our lives would be in the hands of legislators running on "tough on crime". It is to make sure that the punishments and fines meted out for crimes are fair in correlation with the crime committed.
