      <description>Why there is crime in South African schools? Schools ,particularly in townships are regularly prey to gangsterism, Poverty and high rate of unemployment is also a big challenge in south African youth, because some of the gangsters are graduates but because of unemployment, gangsterism they see it as a better way to live. The availability of guns and general legacy of violence has also created a context where gangsters rob schools and kill and rape teachers  and students. Lack of parental participation in schools is also a challenge , in terms of the heavy workload that  they face everyday they are forced into becoming parents to these learner , they also find themselves as councilors as they have to find the root cause of these problems  which can affect  them mentally and psychologically.  Lack of resources at South African schools cause learning difficulties in the classroom, as leaners do not have enough resources such as technological advantages as they are being stolen when provided to them by the gangsters in the surrounding communities or by the learners due to their immoral behavior&#39;s and  these resources are  burnt in the schools , government may also be another reason why these learners have lack off resources in schools or them being short-staffed the reason behind this maybe corruption  and bureaucracy and ends up affecting schools due  to crimes within the government. The study found that bullying, vandalism, gang behavior, lack of discipline, intolerance and corporal punishment were prevalent in schools. Additionally, the study found that school violence affects learners in the following ways: Poor concentration. Poor academic performance. Merge classes. and depression. And when analyzing the school system in south africa it become clear that the education system has flowed with poorly performing teachers. poor work ethics. Work ethic, Having a good work ethic means having the drive and desire to achieve your goals. Student stress can lead to poor work ethic and can have negative psychological, physical and even financial consequences. Each student is different in the stress that school puts on them and how they cope with it. Many students can feel stressed and anxious trying to cope with the workload that comes with school, which undermines their ability and willingness to have good work ethics. School violence in south africa has become a significant problem with friquent report appearing in the written and electronic media about shootings, stabbing and also rapes. How Government can overcome  this situation: South Africans government must come up  with programs that will reduce poverty in the long term include: Education and capacity development; land redistribution; promotion of economic development and job creation; construction of housing; provision of water, sanitation and electricity; construction of schools and clinics. This crime can be accomplished by putting in place physical, electronic, and/or procedural security measures that prevent, obstruct, delay, or detect illegal conduct, specifically by: target hardening, including window film, locks, and fences. Environmental design and upkeep, including lighting, signage, and the control of plants.</description>
