Madrassatu Tarbiyyah Primary School have been operating for almost 28 years. It has approximately 333 learners and about 18 teachers.  Madrassatu Tarbiyyah started at Masjidus Sabr in Parkwood with 7 learners and 1 educator.  As a result of roll increase, a separate boys’ and girls’ campus was established.  The girls’ campus moved 6 times before moving into its current premises.  Currently both boys’ and girls’ campuses are housed separately on the Pelican Park High School premises (moveable structures).  Madrassatu Tarbiyyah have a maximum of 25 learners per class. The school’s aim is to give quality education therefore it only consists of teachers that are qualified and experienced. The school is from Grade R to Grade. 7. 

 

The school practice the Islamic faith and purely following the teachings of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). All the learners feel comfortable as Islam teaches learners od the various religions and cultures.

 

The assembly is also the platform the learners will do a prayer and receive Islamic knowledge. The principal will also use this opportunity to address the learners about anything that happened the past week or any message he needs to get across to them. He will always reprimand them about work, even praise them if they were good academically or where their behaviours are concern. He will also then motivate them for the week ahead and give them tips on how to go about always.

 

 

As the lesson is well thought out and planned, the presentation is logical. This lesson was taught from a textbook. To illustrate the texts in the textbook, the teacher drew some pictures on the blackboard. The teacher asks a question after explaining the text. The teacher gives some of the learners an opportunity to answer by raising their hands. They are asked questions about different texts in the textbook. It is easier for learners to answer some questions since they are simple and straightforward.

 

Learners can apply new skills that have been taught to them and recall earlier work and information. The teacher accomplishes this by having a quiz session the next day about the previous day's lesson. Because the students are incredibly adaptable, going from one lesson to the next is not a problem. It is done silently by the students.
