After my first day with her, I already liked her a lot. She has a lot of problems but she's also funny, and she's not afraid of making fun of her condition every once in a while. She's very brave and patient.

With her I'm able to practice my Portuguese a lot, as well.

She feeds me well and likes to give me things to bring home.

One day, we got up to walk to the pantry, and unexpectedly, she hugged me and started telling me how much she likes me. It made me feel so warm, and glad that she feels comfortable with me.

Portuguese classes

The first classes I went to, the ones on Speak, were nice but I felt like something was missing. Maybe it felt a bit cold.

But the one in the Junta of Bonfim, taught by Rosário from JRS, were so good! I loved them. The teacher was so good at explaining and making sure that everyone understood, even speaking multiple languages with us.

My classmates were also very nice and interesting. I bonded with Sharareh from Iran, Juan from Ecuador and Janis, a lovely Colombian lady, who said that she felt like she was the grandma of the group.

Her arroz com leche that I ate on the last day was amazing.

I feel like I learnt a lot from these classes. They even gave me a book to keep exercising Portuguese.
