This happens a lot with fenced in pastures. This is a problem as it causes the land to be unproductive while eroding the soil and making it generally less hospitable and usable after a period of time. Also, the destruction of rainforests also leads to the destruction of plant and animal species. Another example is that by over-fishing, other people cannot fish in that same area.
