Looking back to the past terms I had in Benilde, editing pubmats or videos is never my forte. I even cried last semester because I thought I wouldn't be part of the Dean's lister anymore because of my editing class. Well fast forward to my internship, I was really hesitant to do works that requires editing. There is this huge pressure on me not to excel and meet the standards that they needed. Often times, I would only get the jobs on editorials and public speaking because I knew I excel very well on that. In our office, I was delegated to produce a campaign material as a part of the requirement that day. Little did I knew that what I was about to do will be used for a bigtime political campaign. The City Administrator commended my works/article releases and wanted to hire me at the end of my internship. They also knew that I would be pursuing law that is why they wanted me to put onto the legal department.

Literally i was in shocked and so is my parents! Well, the lesson I learned here is don't settle in your comfort zone always. Always think what you can offer more for the table.

On my first week of internship, I crowd-sourced a story on Mark Kennedy Bantugon. He is a 22-year-old aeronautical engineering graduate from the Philippine State College of Aeronautics who has won this year's James Dyson Award at the national level with his "sustainable sealant" invention. This story was intended to be published only on Be An Inquirer's page, where I was assigned. But my supervisor, Ms. Ves Garcia pushed my article to be published on the main website. It was a surreal experience for me as I am just an intern in the company. I am amazed with how much the company trusted me with the story. I was congratulated by a lot of people, but what made me most happy was how Bantugon thanked me for featuring him.

I've actually discovered that I have potential in video editing. Video editing isn't my forte, I love to take photographs, and to take cinematics, but I have no interest in video editing. But, this company had given me tasks in making and editing videos. I learned video editing myself because it made a lot of pressure in me.

The outputs I've done made them proud, I've received a lot of compliments from my bosses. I'm a work in progress, still learning, and I am thankful that I stepped out of my comfort zone because it made me realize that I have potential.

I'm writing this after editing some pubmats. I just needed some time to rest my mind and I don't even know why I am doing this instead of resting, krazzzy.

Anyway, I am already a one-month intern and I must say I have lots of first time in this company. Some tasks challenged me to learn new things because there are some things I didn't know about it yet because its not part of the subject or etc., and I need to teach myself in order to do the tasks given to me because staring at it won't do me any good! LOL. There's also a lot of pressure, too since I, myself, always want to do things perfectly and at the same time, I am aware I will create mistakes too. TYG to the people around me because they are super understanding. Also, they know I came from Benilde which is known to be a school of Arts but I'm a Communication Student! THE DUALITY AT ITS FINEST.

In my one month as being an Intern in this company, I'm really grateful with the environment I chose because they make sure my questions will always have answers. Also, they prioritize everyone's mental health. I don't have any regrets in choosing this company! :)

- Do not be scared in creating mistakes!
- Do not be scared in asking questions. Companies always prefer when they are being asked about certain things because they will see that you are really interested in the job!
- Learn when to say no or telling them you don't really know about the the task they will be giving to you.
- You're outside of your comfort zone, explore and embrace every parts of it!
- REST IF U MUST. AND IF UR BODY REALLY NEEDS.
- Don't forget to enjoy what you're doing.

The following are my key takeaways from my OJT experience:
- We are in a workplace, so it is a must to conduct ourselves in a professional manner.
- It is important that we respect time. Attend meetings on time. We must finish the tasks given to us within the time asked of us.
- You won't be treated any less than a co-worker. Don't expect to be spoon-fed. So if you are given a task, you must deliver. You learn from experience.
- Ask questions. That's how you will learn.
