Vincent Willem van Gogh was a Dutch artist that was born on 30th March, 1853 in Zundert, Netherlands and died on July 29, 1890 in Auvers-sur-oise, France. Some of van Gogh's most famous works include Starry Night, Irises and Sunflowers. One of van Gogh's biggest artistic influences was Paul
Gauguin. Van Gogh was influenced by Paul Gauguin because when he relocated to Paris he was exposed to impressionism and the vibrant colours of Paul Gauguin's artworks so he started to experiment his techniques and Pauls techniques to become a better artist

The painting Starry Night is an oil painting created in 1889. I liked how van Gogh recreated the stars and the moon in such a unique way. I felt calm because the wind in the sky is so smooth. This artwork is a landscape artwork because as you can see the painting it is looking at a small country town. I believe van Gogh was trying to represent the beauty of living in a small country town. The first thing I looked when I saw Starry Night at was the wind and it is located in the centre of the page. The reason I looked at it first was because it was a main feature to the piece and because it was colourful. I cannot name just one feature for this artwork because it expresses all of the attributes of art but if I had to pick it would have to be texture. I picked texture because the thousands of short brushstrokes van Gogh uses to make the painting.

The exhibition will be held in Auvers-sur-oise, France . You will find his paintings will be hung on the houses in the town. I chose this place to have the exhibition because the people at the exhibition will be able to relate to what van Gogh is painting or drawing. This is because van Gogh spent a lot of his short life living there.
