The main reason for this is that Hollywood has had a large impact on the film industry since the early 20th century. This is also because the dominent style of American cinema is classic Hollywood cinema which started from 1917 and went to 1960 which had spread so much that it still characterises most filmes made to this day and most likely for a long time to come. 
Hollywood cinema produces the larges number of films of any single language. 
Hollywood cinema is considered the oldest form of cinema and is the birth place of many of the genres we know today.  
Hollywood cinema has the most commercially successful and most ticket selling movies in the world. 
Some examples is the Godfather: as paramount pictures got the novel rights at the price of $80,000 which is £61,501.20.
