The way that I changed the camera's setting to be shutter priority is I turned the dial on the top right of the camera. The dial turns and it has "MAPS" on it. I just turned the Dial to "S"
When the shutter speed of a camera is changed, mainly increased, it effects the brightness of the photos. With a high shutter speed, such as 1/1500, the pictures come out darker and more dim in order to compensate for the speed at which it is taking pictures.
I would want to use shutter sped as a priority because it is able to real capture the details and I literally stops a moment in time. the situations you would use it is during sporting events or anything that moves at high speeds. For example if you wanted to capture a picture of a baseball right as the pitcher throws it.
