The coaches that had been talking to me cut off communication either after the season or after they met me and saw my height. To make matters worse our head coach announced he was leaving, so I determined I needed to make a large change in focus and stop relying on others to help me. I learned that you can't be so focused on one thing, and that you have to look at the big picture, and what is best for oneself. I was so upset that I didn't have an opportunity to play at a top 25 level school, when I worked twice as hard as others just because of my height, but I came to the realization that I had opportunities that no others had in attending high level academic schools. I had two successful seasons before, and I was ready to make my name known across the country. However, Junior year I struggled with injury, and when I finally met coaches, they were thrown off by my height and stopped communication.
