On that date Rosa parks was sitting in the front of the Bus and when a white guy told her to move so he can have the seat Rosa Parks Said no. She was arrested for this and that upset the community. The bus Boycott lasted 381 days. This had an affect on the Civil Rights Movement because colored people were able to sit wherever they want on the bus and the black community was standing up for themselves.

A group of nine black kids went to Central High School to start school but instead they were stopped by a group of protesting people and the Governor. Then a few weeks later they tried again but they had to leave because the violence was to bad. Dwight D. Eisenhower ordered troops to take the students to each class. The students still got harassed by other people.

African Americans were not allowed the right to vote. They were protesting and fighting for the right to vote. Eisenhower signed the Civil Rights Act of 1957. It stopped anyone who tried to stop someone from voting. It also created a investigation voter fraud.

Four black kids refused to leave the restaurant when they were told to leave. That caused a lot of people to do "sit-ins" at the restaurants and not leave. After people got arrested and where charged with trespassing all lunch counters were boycotted. This helped a lot of people stand up for themselves and where able to eat wherever they want.

They were traveling around the U.S and where brutally attacked by white mobs and had a bomb threw into the bus at one point. They were sentenced to 30 days in jail for trespassing. Just after 6 p.m. on April 4, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. is fatally shot while standing on the balcony outside his second-story room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. The civil rights leader was in Memphis to support a sanitation workers’ strike and was on his way to dinner when a bullet struck him in the jaw and severed his spinal cord. King was pronounced dead after his arrival at a Memphis hospital. He was 39 years old.
