Hello! My name is Anna Khan and I am a third-year Psychology major with a minor in Business Administration here at UF. I was born and raised in Canada, but I’ve been living in Florida for almost a decade now since I moved. I love playing volleyball or badminton with my friends to de-stress, and I am also an avid reader. Some of my other hobbies include drawing and painting, although more recently I have been getting into digital art which has been super fun to learn and explore!

My question for the students who go to Nagasaki University is: What are some activities you like to do in your free time?

Hi guys! My name is Andres Gutierrez-Quintero and I am a fourth-year triple major (yes, it is as insane as it sounds) in Linguistics, Arabic, and International Studies with a focus on the Middle East here at the University of Florida (UF). I am also going to be starting my Ph.D in Linguistics here at UF in the Fall!

I was born and raised in Florida, my father is Mexican and my mother is Puerto Rican and as a result I speak both English and Spanish fluently; I can also speak Arabic but not as well as I used to. I am the youngest of four, with the smallest age gap between me and my siblings being 10 years.

I love to write stories, create languages (conlangs), world build, play guitar, play video games and Dungeons and Dragons, draw, and discuss random topics with my friends. Sometimes I create comics for friends using vector art when I have time to spare too!

My question for you is: What is your favorite food?

こんにちは！My name is Rachel Heimburger and I am a first- year student majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Japanese here at the University of Florida. I was born and raised in Utah, and my mom is from Tokyo (Meguro) so my family and I love to visit Japan. I am actually visiting this summer, which I am super excited about! I love to travel, play tennis, and ski.

My questions for Nagasaki Students:

I feel like American Universities have a specific college culture. This could be having lots of school spirit, partying, athletics, and Greek life. What are some elements of Japanese college culture? Are there specific things that you may think will shock American college students?
