For me, it was an amazing night listening to music I normally would not listen to, but now I might change that fact. The music this canon has to offer has shown me how to listen more actively and has also taught me how to engage more with music itself. The pieces that were performed were beautiful and I had a couple of favorites. My favorite was Carnaval, Opus 9 by Schumann. I also loved the venue that this recital took place in, Voertman Hall is gorgeous and it felt open and engaging with the audience. I loved the wood on the stage wall, everything looked so professional and classic to me. I think more people should give this canon a chance, they night be surprised like I was.
