I hope everyone is doing well!  During these past few week, I have been spending a lot of time with my family.  When it's nice and sunny we will spend a lot of our time outside running, walking, playing with sidewalk chalk and bubbles.  When it's rainy we spend a lot of time coloring and looking at books.  Some days we have special movie days, which include our favorites Frozen and Moana.  I always have good intentions of cleaning out closets and other parts of the house, but that never seems to happen :)  My family and I have been trying to support small businesses by ordering take out from local restaurants.  I haven't had to do much cooking, which has been a nice break for me.

I have been spending time with my family and trying to go outside at least once a day. We play games together and currently have a gaming score-board where we keep track of who wins each board game, card game, video-game, race, etc. I am proud to say that I am the reigning champion of Harry Potter Clue, so far. :) To stay active, we all remind each other to take breaks and do a couple pushups, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, every half hour or so if we are not able to go for walks or do full exercises that day. What creative things have you been up to? Have you discovered any hobbies you enjoy? I can't wait to see all of you again and hear about  your experiences during this historic event. Working from home with a toddler is a juggling act, and while I am online all day, I do step away for the occassional round of "The Wheels on the Bus" or "The Chicken Dance," two of Joseph's favorites. My new hobbies include trying to secure a slot for grocery delivery (kidding - sort of).  I am enjoying daily walks, Peloton rides, and cooking.

To help pass the time, I've built a small driving range and lacrosse goal in my backyard. Its definitely not the same as being out there on the field with some of you, but it's close.

Everyone has their own challenges with being in quarantine, and it is great to see so many students rising to the challenges of showing up as their best selves while navigating new ways of learning.  The most challenging part for the Magrini household is that our house is under renovations since before this all started and we have NO KITCHEN!  While meal planning is a little tricky, like everyone, though, we are making the best of this “bonus” time we get to have together, which in the end, means EVERYTHING!  

When not teaching (and figuring out what’s for dinner), most of my time at home has been used to help Mr. Magrini with the reno- spackling, painting, installing cabinets- and I have had some time to pursue other interests- running, reading, journaling, book clubs, and zooming with friends and family.  In the evenings, my daughter and I are watching Glee on Netflix.  I find the music to be very fun and uplifting right now!  We are also attending “live” mass on Sundays.

You know, I was thinking about how each August when we return to school from summer vacation, the energy in the halls is just exhilarating!  I love seeing how much everyone has grown and changed from their summer experiences.  I love seeing you all share stories and laugh as you go from class to class.  This is what I picture when I think about returning to school when this is all over.  I can’t wait to see you all again!

I've been trying out new working and relaxing spaces inside and outside of the house, which has been fun!  We finally hung up our hammock that has been sitting in a closet, and I have been going outside during the day with my computer and sitting on the hammock!  More times than not, while we are in our classes, my dogs, Lois and Clark, sit right beside me as if they want to be a part of the class!

I've heard such great things about all the work you have been doing online. I'm so proud of how quickly you all adjusted to a difficult situation.

I hope everyone is staying safe, practicing social distancing, but still taking some time each day to enjoy time with family.  

I have been getting outside just about everyday and trying to stay as active as possible. Productive activities like yard work, and cleaning out the basement have kept me busy.  Long walks through town, bike rides, and sitting by the fire pit in the back yard help me relax at the end of the day. 

You have been doing such a great job with your lessons on google classroom, and the amount of creativity you have come up with while working at home is just amazing.

I have been staying busy watching some cool webinars, reading, cooking and baking A LOT, and getting outside to run or walk everyday. I am so thankful to have this extra time to spend with my family. My sons, Braeden and Chase, have been keeping my husband and I very busy.  It has been interesting working from home and teaching my kids as well, but after we get our work done we make sure to have some fun.  We go on hikes, take bike rides, watch movies, play with our dog, work on puzzles, play sports, make crafts and play games.  Recently, we painted rocks with positive messages on them and delivered them to a local hospital for the staff to see as they enter. I also feel like I run a restaurant.....someone is always looking to eat!

While home, we celebrated our dog, Roxy, turning 1 and my youngest son, Chase, turning 8. His friends celebrated him with a birthday parade by driving by our house.
