Writing personal recount requires to retell an activity or event that happened in your own life. HISTORICAL RECOUNT TEXT

It is a text that informs the reader about factual events that have happened in the past that has historical values.

SURTINI/01
Ballooning

The first kind of air transportation was not a plane. It was a balloon. People traveled by balloon 100 years before there were planes or jet aircraft. Those early days of ballooning were exciting, but they were also dangerous. Sometimes the balloons fell suddenly. Sometimes they burned. However, the danger did not stop the balloonists.

(1) The first real balloon flight was in France in 1783. Two Frenchmen, the Montgolfier brothers, made a balloon. They filled a very large paper bag with hot air. Hot air is lighter than cold air, so it goes up. The Montgolfier’s hot air balloon went up 1,000 feet in the sky.

(2) Later that same year, two other Frenchmen ascended in the basket under a balloon. They built a fire under the balloon to make the air hot. This made the balloon stay up in the air for a few hours. But their balloon was tied to the ground. So it could not go anywhere.

During the nineteenth century, ballooning became a popular sport. There were balloon races in Europe. Balloons were also used by scientists to study the air and by armies in wartime. After the airplane was invented, people lost interest in balloons. Planes were much faster and easier to control. But some people today still like to go up in balloons. High up in the balloon basket, they find quiet. They have a wonderful view of the world below.

Nisrina Nabila BN/24/XA

Two years ago, I visited Raja Ampat. The island is a famous island and visited by many tourists from various countries and local people.

I have visited there several times and I still want to go there again and again. I know a little about the history of Raja Ampat.

The origin of the name Raja Ampat according to local community myth comes from a woman who found seven eggs. Four of them hatched into four princes who separated and each became a ruling king in Waigeo, Salawati, East Misool and West Misool. Meanwhile, three other eggs became a ghost, a woman, and a stone.

In the course of history, the Raja Ampat area has long been inhabited by aristocratic communities and implemented the Maluku customary system. In this system, society is a group of people. Each village is led by a king. Since the establishment of five Muslim sultanates in Maluku, Raja Ampat has become part of the claims of the Tidore Sultanate. After the Sultanate of Tidore surrendered from the Netherlands, the Raja Ampat Islands became part of the claims of the Dutch East Indies.

In the Misool cluster area, prehistoric relics were found in the form of handprints placed on the rock walls. Uniquely, these handprints are very close to sea level and are not in the cave. According to estimates, the age of these handprints is around 50,000 years and is part of a series of directions for the spread of humans from the western archipelago to Papua and Melanesia.

The remains of World War II shipwrecks can be found in several dive sites, such as on Wai Island.

After the Raja Ampat islands became a Dutch Indian claim then all of us can enjoy the beauty of the Raja Ampat island.

They took shelter in a house (cottage) in the eastern slopes of Mount Lawu. The hut was made of forest wood and roofed with leaves. With this very simple cottage both of them already feel very safe and are not afraid of the dangers that befall them, such as the disturbance of wild animals and so on. Moreover, they have lived in the forest for a long time so they understand the situation of the surrounding environment and are sure to be able to overcome all the disturbances that might befall him.

One day Kyai Pasir went to the forest with the intention of planting something in his field, as a livelihood for daily living. Because the fields will be planted with many large phon-trees, Kyai Pasir will first cut down several large trees one by one.

Suddenly Kyai Pasir was surprised to find out that a chicken egg was located under one of the trees that it was about to cut down. He watched the egg for a moment as he asked in his heart what egg was found. Even though there are no poultry that lay eggs. No longer thinking, Kyai Pasir immediately returned to buy the egg and gave it to his wife. Kyai Pasir told Nyai Pasir the first time he found the egg, until he brought it home. Finally, the husband and wife agreed that the egg was boiled. After cooking, half of the cooked egg by Nyai Pasir was given to her husband. Eating the egg by Kyai Pasir with gusto. Then Then Kyai Pasir departed again to the field to continue the work of cutting down trees and planting. On the way back to the fields, Kyai Pasir still tasted the eggs he had just eaten. But after arriving at the field, his body felt hot, stiff and very painful. Eye dizzy, cold sweat ran down his entire body. This suffering came suddenly, so Kyai Pasir was unable to withstand the pain and finally fell to the ground. They are very confused because their bodies are stiff and aching absurdly. In this very critical situation the Kyai Pasir was rolling on the ground, rolling to and fro fiercely. Magical befall on Kyai Pasir. Suddenly his body changed form into a large snake, murmured, glared very scary. The dragon snake rolled to and fro without ceasing. Once upon a time, Nyai Pasir who lived at home and also ate half of the boiled eggs earlier, suddenly suffered the same fate as that of Kyai Pasir. His whole body became sick, stiff and hot, not playing. Nyai Pasir became confused, ran here and there, not known what was done.Because of this suffering, finally Nyai Pasir ran to the field to meet her husband to ask for help. But what was found. Not the Kyai Pasir, but a huge and frightening dragon. Seeing the huge dragon Nyai Pasir was shocked and scared absurdly. But because of the pain he was getting worse, Nyai Pasir could no longer survive and fell to the ground. Nyai Pasir has the same magical fate as her husband. Thus he collapsed to the ground, his body transformed into a large snake, grunted, glistening, his teeth long and pointy very terrible. The two dragons finally rolled to and fro, wriggling in the fields, causing the ground where the two dragons rolled to become scattered and hunched around as if they were beaten. The basin grew wider and deeper, while the two big dragons were also more powerful and rolled and suddenly from within the deep and broad basins that spouted large water gushing everywhere. In an instant, the basin was full of water and the Kyai Pasir field was transformed into a large pool called Telaga. This lake was formerly called the Sand Lake by the local community, because this lake was created by Kyai Pasir and Nyai Pasir.

RAHMAH NUR AZIZAH
XA/28

Yogyakarta Palace was established by Sultan Hamengku Buwono I a few months after the Giyanti Agreement in 1755. The location of this palace is said to be a former pesanggarahan [2] named Garjitawati. This pesanggrahan is used to break the procession of the bodies of the kings of Mataram (Kartasura and Surakarta) who will be buried in Imogiri. Another version mentions the location of the palace is a spring, Umbul Pacethokan, which is in the middle of the Beringan forest. Before occupying the Yogyakarta Palace, Sultan Hamengku Buwono I settled in Pesanggrahan Ambar Ketawang which now belongs to the Gamping District of Sleman Regency [3]. Physically the palace of the Sultan of Yogyakarta has seven core complexes namely Siti Hinggil Ler (North Hall), Kamandhungan Ler (North Kamandhungan), Sri Manganti, Kedhaton, Kamagang, Kamandhungan Kidul (South Kamandhungan), and Siti Hinggil Kidul (South Balairung) [4 ] [5]. In addition, Yogyakarta Palace has a variety of cultural heritage in the form of ceremonies as well as ancient and historic objects. On the other hand, Yogyakarta Palace is also a traditional institution complete with customary holders. Therefore it is not surprising that philosophical values as well as mythology envelop the Yogyakarta Palace. And for this reason in 1995 the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace Complex was nominated to become one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Alifa khairunnisa /04/XA

According to Sumba folklore, Pasola started with a beautiful widow named Rabu Kaba in Waiwuang Village. Rabu Kaba had a husband named Umbu Amahu, one of the leaders in Waiwuang village. Besides Umbu Amahu, there were two other leaders named Ngongo Tau Masusu and Shadow Amahu. One day, these leaders will go to sea. But, they went to the southern coast of West Sumba to collect rice. The residents waited for three leaders for a long time, but they had not yet returned to their villages. Residents united their three leaders who had passed away, so the citizens organized a gathering. In this grief, the beautiful widow of the late Umbu Dula on Rabu Kaba became entangled in romance with Teda Gaiparona who came from Kampung Kodi. Families from Rabu Kaba and Teda Gaiparona did not allow them, so they eloped. Teda Gaiparona brought the widow to her hometown. Some time later, three leaders of the residents of Waiwuang (Ngongo Tau Masusu, Bayang Amahu and Umbu Amahu) who were previously thought to have received, reappeared in his hometown. Umbu Amahu looked for his wife who had been taken by Teda Gaiparono. The most successful Waiwuang residents found on Rabu Kaba who had harbored romance with Teda Gaiparona did not want to return. Then on Rabu Kaba asked Teda Gaiparona to replace the belis received from Umbu Dulla's family. Thank you for the assistance provided, such as the gift of horses, cows, buffalo, and other valuables. Teda Gaiparona then agreed to it and paid for the scholarship. After the entire payment has been paid, a Rabu Kaba couple's marriage ceremony with Teda Gaiparona is held. At the end of the wedding, Umbu Dulla's family advised the residents of Waiwuang to join the nyale party in the form of Pasola to get their sadness over the beautiful widow on Rabu Kaba

He was given the name Aji Bedarah Putih, because his skin was very white. He has a habit of chewing betel and swallowing betel water. As a leader, he managed to build the kingdom into a kingdom that is very prosperous and peaceful. The prosperity of the country is seen by the existence of a well called the Brave Water Well. The well water is very swift, never dry, and is a source of water for the residents.

The beauty and elegance of the princess is well known to neighboring kingdoms. Many princes and kings came to marry him, but none of them were accepted by Putri Aji Bedarah Putih.

News about Putri Aji Bedarah Putih reached the ears of the King of China. He was curious, why not a single proposal from the kings and princes received by the princess. He wanted to know as well as what Princess Aji Bedarah Putih. The Kailasa Museum was inaugurated on July 28, 2008 by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia Ir Jero Wacik.
The location of the Kailasa museum building is located under the pangonan hill which, according to residents, is often found in various historical relics or precisely across the Gatutkaca Temple, administratively entering the Dieng kulon village area, Batur District, Kab. Banjarnegara.
The Kailasa Museum building consists of 4 main buildings, namely a place to store cultural heritage objects, a place for information / artifacts about Dieng and film screenings about Dieng, a toilet and mosque building and a building for places for performances and large gatherings, while other buildings are gazebos - a small gazebo at the top that can be used as a place to rest and watch the views of Dieng village and the Arjuna temple complex.
The museum is guarded quite tightly by officers who always shift shifts, considering that in this museum there are objects that are priceless, historical relics of the ancient Javanese Hindu from the 7-8th century AD, there is even a special room to store objects historical objects that not just anyone can visit, one of the most unique objects and is not found in any part of Indonesia is the Kudu Statue, this statue is shaped in the form of a human head with a simple ornament and is found in several temples in India. In addition to the statue of kudu there is also Kala Makara which according to the story of some museum guards has a magical element that is that if the night often turns into a fire, of course such objects must be stored in a very protected place and not just anyone can see it for historical security reasons.
Meanwhile, for the other building which is located next to the storage of statues, it is always open to the public that features a documentary film about Dieng and panels about the ins and outs of Dieng in the form of pictures, objects, and documentation stories about geology, flora and fauna , daily life, beliefs, Dieng art and local customs.

    Aletta farda y.z./03_XA

Semarang is capital city of Central Java. This city is the fifth biggest city in Indonesia after Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, and Bandung. The city has a lot of tourism destinations, beginning from natural, religious and historical tourism objects.
One of Semarang historical tourism objects which is well known is Lawang Sewu which was built in the Dutch colonial. Lawang Sewu was built on February 27, 1904 as head office of NIS, one of train’s companies in the Dutch East Indies. The building has high and wide windows, like a door so that local people call it “Lawang Sewu” meaning “a thousand of doors”.
Although the building is named Lawang Sewu, in fact the building has only 429 doors. For long time, the building was not managed. But finally, Lawang Sewu in late June 2011 was renovated and re-opened for public on July 5, 2011. Because the building was built as head office of NIS, the history of Lawang Sewu cannot be separated from railway in Indonesia.
After the independence of Indonesia, the building is used as railway office of Indonesia or now PT Kereta Api Indonesia. Besides, it was used to as Office of Infrastructure of Regional Military Command and Regional Office of Ministry of Transportation in Central Java. Meanwhile, during the struggling period, the building became a silent witness of 5-day battle in Semarang. Thus, the city’s government of Semarang in 1992 entered Lawang Sewu as one of 102 historical buildings in Semarang which should be protected.
Lawang Sewu is located at Tugu Muda complex, Jalan Pemuda, Central Semarang, Semarang, Central Java, precisely at the center of Semarang city. So, the access to this tourism object is easy.
Lawang Sewu is open every day, starting from 6.00 AM until 09.00 PM local time. The entrance ticket is Rp. 10,000 for adults, Rp. 5,000 for students and kids. If you want to enter into basement, you will be charged Rp. 30,000/person and for the tourist guide is Rp. 30,000.

We got information from neighbors that there was a building containing a tomb and there were windows on the building that opened and closed by itself even though there were no houses in the area.

Out of curiosity, we stopped and looked at the building in question. We had to stop because the location of the road and the hill were not close so we had to watch carefully. After we noticed, it's true that the window in the building shifted to the right and opened, then the window shifted to the left and closed the window. We immediately felt goosebumps because the hill had no settlement, so what caused the window to shift right and left. This phenomenon has become a byword of citizens. Ratu Boko is located on a plateau, about three kilometres south of Lara Jonggrang Prambanan temple complex in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The original name of this site is still unclear, however the local inhabitants named this site after King Boko, the legendary king mentioned in Loro Jonggrang folklore. In Javanese, Ratu Baka means "Stork King".

According to writer HJ. DeGraff, in the 17th century there were many European travelers to Java, who mentioned that there existed an archeological site which related to certain King Boko. In 1790, a Dutch researcher, Van Boeckholtz was the first to discover the archaeological ruins on top of Ratu Boko Hill. The hill itself is the northwestern branch of a larger Sewu mountain system, located on southern part of Central and East Java spanned between Yogyakarta to Tulungagung. The publication of the discovery attracted scientists such as Mackenzie, Junghun and Brumun to conduct research and exploration on the site in the year 1814. In the early 20th century, the Ratu Boko site was thoroughly studied by researcher FDK Bosch, who published his findings in a report entitled "Keraton Van Ratoe Boko". From this report concluded that the ruins was the remnant of a keraton (palace). During these researches, Mackenzie also found a statue of gold-headed man and woman embracing each other. A stone pillar with ornaments of zoomorphic figures among which are elephants, horses, and others, also found among the ruins.

Abhayagiri Vihara inscription dated 792 CE is one of the few written evidence discovered in Ratu Boko site. The inscription mentioned Tejahpurnapane Panamkarana or Rakai Panangkaran (746-784 M), and also mentioned a vihara located on top of the hill called Abhyagiri Wihara which means "a vihara on top of the hill that free from danger". From this inscription it was concluded, that King Panangkaran in a later period of his reign wished for a spiritual refuge and created a reclusion of Buddhist hermitage named Abhayagiri Wihara in 792. Rakai Panangkaran was a pious follower of Mahayana Buddhist, a Dhyani Buddha statue was discovered on the site, which confirmed its initial Buddhist nature. Nevertheless, some Hindu elements are also found at the site, such as the discovery of statues of Hindu deities: Durga, Ganesha and Yoni.

It seems that the compound was later converted to a hilltop fortress by a local landlord named Rakai Walaing Pu Kumbayoni. According to the Shivagrha inscription, the place was used as a defensive fort, consisting of hundreds of stacked stones. The hilltop fortress was used as a fort during a power struggle in later days of Mataram Kingdom.

The Ratu Boko complex consists of gopura (gates), paseban, pools, pendopo, pringgitan, kaputren (women's quarter), and meditation caves.

Gia Puspita Rahma/16/XA

Sepelawan cave was one of those situated in purworejo regency in the village Donorejo,Kaligesing.Goa sepadversaries has about 1,700 feet [700 m] long while the branches of the goa are about 150-300 feet [150-300 m] long. The caves formed by the process of natural evolution over many millions of years, they had formed the surface of the ancient mountains. The goa sepadversary is a historical heritage site with great historical value, and this is attested to by the discovery of a 22-carat 6-inch (9 cm) gold digger weighing 1.5 kg (1 kg) on August 15, 1979, in one corner of the cave. The statue is in the shape of a man holding a woman's hand. Historians have come to believe that idols are the embodiment of shiva and the goddess wati. It is a tribute to the Hindu day of shiva.

In addition, there was crowbar lingga-yoni found alongside the mouth of the cave. The lingga-yoni couple resemble pestles and dimples of males and females. The findings, perhaps contemporaneous with the temple of borobudur in the maghawk district, about the 9th century A.D. The estimate is based on numerous discoveries of pollinators found at the goa, also depicted on carved temple reliefs of borobudur.

Other discoveries found at goa sepopponent were traces of shell fossils measuring 5 cm-15 cm.The fossil remains can be found on the walls of goa and, according to reports of historical and central javan asylum, to be the result of the development of areas around the mountains upon the surface of the sea. This discovery is thought to be traces of sea fossil remains. There were also fossil traces of various west Sumatra fish, attached to the wall of goa. It is thought to have lived on the sea floor by eosen's time, some 40 million years ago. Although there were a number of historical treasures in nearby goa, some estimates place it was not a place of residence, merely a cult site. The cavern was a place of veneration for rulers or Kings who had resigned from worldly activities. Another interesting point is that the cave's source of refreshing water above its egg isan ancient inscription that reads saplo wan, which has the meaning of saplu: sacred. Wan: a man who can define a holy man or a sanctifying place of man.

Elvina Shafa N / 12 / 4A

It was told in ancient times that somewhere in Pekalongan City there lived a very beautiful princess, until now it is still being talked about by the population, which is well known as Dewi Rara Kuning. In traveling his life wave Dewi Rara Kuning experienced extreme suffering, because at a very young age she had become a widow. Her husband died after some time of marriage. So from that Dewi Rara Kuning then known as Dewi Lanjar. (Lanjar is a term for a woman who is divorced from her husband at a young age and has no children). Since her husband left Goddess Lanjar, his life is very miserable and always only think of her husband. This has been going on for some time, but over time Dewi Lanjar thought again that if left unchecked so it would not be good for the consequences. So from that he then decided to go to leave his hometown, wandering while crying his heart that was afflicted by unfortunate.
That is, the journey of Dewi Lanjar to the river Opak. In this place later met with the King of Mataram with Mahapatih Singaranu who was floating floating on the water in the river. During the meeting Dewi Lanjar expressed her heart and also said she was not willing to remarry. Panembahan Senopati and Mahapatih Singoranu to hear his speech moved and felt sorry. Therefore he advised to meditate on the South Coast and face the Queen of South. After a while, they parted and continued their journey, Panembahan and Senopati and their patih continued to meditate along the Opak river while Dewi Lanjar went towards the South Coast to face Ratu Kidul.
It is said that Dewi Lanjar arrived at the South Coast looking for a good place to meditate. Because of perseverance and confidence in the advice of the King of Mataram, finally Dewi Lanjar was able to moksa (lost) and was able to meet Ratu Kidul. During the meeting Dewi Lanjar begged to be able to become his men, and Ratu Kidul did not mind. One day Dewi Lanjar and the jinns were ordered to disturb and prevent Raden Bahu who was opening the Gambiren forest (now located near the Pekalongan anim bridge and Sorogenen village where Raden Bahu made fire) but because of the magic power of Raden Bahu, obtained from the Ngalong meditation (such as Ngalong) Bat / Bat), all the temptations of Dewi Lanjar and jinns can be defeated and even subject to Raden Bahu. Because Dewi Lanjar was unable to complete the task, she decided not to return to the South Coast, but later asked permission from Raden Bahu to be able to reside in Pekalongan. By Raden Bahu was even approved by Ratu Kidul. Dewi Lanjar was allowed to stay on the north coast of Central Java, especially in Pekalongan. It is said that the location of the palace of Dewi Lanjar is located on Pekalongan beach next to the river Slamaran.

TAMAN PELANGIEnjoying Rainbow in The Night

Putri Qomariah A / 26 / 4A

Here, you can see rainbows, even in the night. Lampions in various shapes and colors will enchant your eyes. Numerous amusements are also available for you to try.

People said rainbow is only visible after the rain, and it will be clear to the eyes only during the day. However, in Taman Pelangi, you wouldn't have to wait for the rain to fall or the sun to shine, as the rainbows are visible every day even until the sun sets. Yup, they are not just ordinary rainbows; they were made of lampions.

Taman Pelangi (literally translated as "The Garden of Rainbows") is the name given to the amusement park, which is located within the yard of Monumen Jogja Kembali. Designed to surround the park, numerous lampions in various shapes and colors are installed to decorate the yard. The park has two entrance gates-the west and the east gate. YogYES suggests you to go through the east gate, as you will directly be welcomed by a huge lampion in the shape of a rainbow, which also serves as the gate to the kingdom of lampions.

Entering the park, we will go through a route of passages filled by various colorful lampions-shaped in floras, faunas, Japanese and Disney cartoon characters, to the faces of Indonesian's leaders. The lampions are presented in varied installation manners-some seem to be planted into the ground, some are fixed to the wall, some hanging in the air, while some others are installed in lines like a drill of soldiers.

While watching the colorful night scene, we can also give a try on the various amusements-from trampoline, mini pedicab, rowboat, water balls, speedboat, bom-bom car, and many others. Seen from the aerial view, the complex of Monumen Jogja Kembali appears like a theater with huge pool divided in 4 parts surrounding it. These parts of the pool also offer water amusements you can try. Interested in trying something of higher challenge? We suggest you try exploring the Puri Hantu (the Ghost House). We have, honestly, no idea what you might find inside, as we haven't had the guts to try entering the house. If you prefer not to explore the are on foot, you can ride on a safari cart to explore the whole route in the area.

It is not exaggerating to say that Taman Pelangi Monjali is a quite an all-in-one recreational site. While offering night romanticism decorated with colorful lampions and various amusements, the venue also includes a food court where you can rest and relax while trying the menus. Still haven't got any idea where to spend a fun night in Jogja? Why don't you just come to Taman Pelangi?

When you hear the name of the Yellow Palace, most likely you will imagine a magnificent building in yellow. Unlike the Maimun Palace in Medan which is also known as the Yellow Palace because its architecture is predominantly yellow, this one is not yellow except for the gate.

The Yellow Palace in question is a beautiful building inherited from the Kutaringin Kingdom. This palace is located right in the heart of Pangkalan Bun, Kotawaringin Barat, Central Kalimantan. The existence of the Yellow Palace has become one of the special regional tourism treats to be visited.

Then why is he named the Yellow Palace? It turns out that yellow is a sacred color for the people of Kotawaringin. The palace was founded by the 9th prince of the Kutaringin Kingdom, namely Imanudin who served in 1811-1841. That said, the Yellow Palace is actually the second palace that was built in Central Kalimantan after Al Mursari Palace in Kotawaringin Lama. This palace is the pride of history and culture of the Islamic kingdom in Central Kalimantan.

The architecture of the Yellow Palace which in fact is not yellow is made of ironwood which is famously strong and widely used in traditional buildings in Central Kalimantan. The building is similar to a magnificent stilt house although made of ironwood that is not painted in color. Yes, indeed the brownish wood color is left natural without being painted. It appears that the ladder steps will take visitors to the entrance of this palace.

Palace in the form of stilt houses built entirely of wood was burned in 1986. The fire was reportedly carried out by a woman who lost his mind named Draya. The incident scorched the entire Yellow Palace building and its contents. Even so, efforts to restore and preserve the Yellow Palace still carried out. The renovation was only carried out in 2000 but of course the building was not the same as before. This old palace began to function for tourism and office activities with the aim of familiarizing the palace with the local community.

In this palace there is almost no contents. The size of the buildings that are large and spacious adds to the impression of the empty palace. However, you can still see a number of paintings of previous kings lined up neatly in one corner of the room. There is also a horse-drawn carriage that was used by the royal family in ancient times to get around. This horse-drawn carriage is a new horse-drawn carriage specially ordered from Java in lieu of a burned-out carriage.https://images.app.goo.gl/9kB7d2yJBP5EcJfZ6

behind the pontianak name

laudza b/20/4A

Pontianaks were depicted as pale-skinned women with long black hair, red eyes, and white dresses smeared in blood, but they were said to be able to take on a beautiful human appearance since they preyed on men and helpless people. They could also be beasts due to their bloodthirsty and carnivorous nature.

In folklore, a pontianak arose at full moon and announced her presence through high-pitched baby cries. If the cry was soft, it meant that the pontianak was near, and if it was loud, then she was far. Some believed that if one heard a dog howling at night, it meant the pontianak was far, but if a dog was whining, that meant the pontianak was nearby. Her presence could sometimes be detected by a nice floral fragrance identifiable as that of the [[plumaria]], followed by an awful stench (resembling that of a decaying body) afterwards. The Indian version, the Churail, can be identified by her feet turning backwards just before her transformation into her vampiric form.

A pontianak killed her victims by digging into their body with her sharp fingernails and devouring their bodily organs. In some cases where the pontianak desired revenge against a male individual, the beast ripped out the bodily organs with her hands. It was said that if one had his or her eyes opened when a pontianak was near, she would suck them out of the victim's head. Pontianaks located their prey/victims by sniffing out the hanging laundry outside. For this reason, some Malaysians refused to leave any piece of clothing outside of their house overnight.

The pontianak was associated with [[banana]] trees, and her spirit was said to reside in them during the day.

To fend off a pontianak, a nail should be plunged into the hole on the nape of her neck. This was said to make her turn into a beautiful woman and a good wife until the nail was removed. In the case of the kuntilanak, the nail was plunged into the apex of her head.

The Indonesian kuntilanak was similar to the pontianak, but commonly took the form of a bird and sucks the blood of virgins and young women. The bird, which made a "ke-ke-ke" sound as it flew, may be sent through some black magic to make a woman fall ill; the characteristic symptom was vaginal bleeding. In her female form, when a man approached her, she suddenly turned and revealed that her back was hollow, but this apparition was more specifically referred to [[sundel bolong]].

Qurrotuz Zahroh 'A ( 27 )

Way Kambas National Park (WKNP) located on the Lampung Province on the southern Sumatra. Though this park widely famous by their Sumatran elephant, but more than that, the park has 406 bird species and 50 different species of mammals which many of them are critically endangered like Sumatran tiger and rhino. The landscape covers 125.621,30 ha of swamp and lowland rainforest, but the habitat of those charismatic species has been degraded by extensive logging in 1960s-1970s that also impacted to animal population in Way Kambas National Park. However, considering its uniqueness in biodiversity, this year Way Kambas National Park is appointed as part of ASEAN Heritage Park.
WCS has worked in Way Kambas National Park since 2000, through their team Wildlife Response Unit (WRU) for responding conflict between human-elephant. It includes human-elephant conflict mitigation, patrolling in 163 elephant tracks in villages around WKNP, facilitate self-management mitigation training and initiates village from to independently mitigating human-elephant conflict. Protect elephants and their habitat: Set-up two teams of SMART patrol unit specifically targetting illegal killing of elephant inside the park in Way Kambas National Park. A Wildlife crime investigation also conducted using DNA evidence as crime evidence in collaboration with Eijkman Institute.
Conduct study on elephant population using DNA through elephant feces in 2010. Our study shows that elephant population in Way Kambas NP were stabile between 2002 to 2010.
In order to maintain the ASEAN Heritage Park title, WKNP management should make their best effort to save biodiversity inside. The threat to ecosystem and wildlife population of WKNP includes illegal logging, forest fire, wildlife poaching activities and human-elephant conflict. WKNP experiences deforestation at 0.109% rate per year. Illegal logging could lead to habitat loss and sometimes make elephant come near to village and could lead to human-elephant conflict. And it can also affect the number of illegal paoching that could leads to illegal wildlife trafficking of elephant goods ( mostly ivory). Human-elephant conflict may not directly affect elephant population, but in can affect people's support toward elephant conservation.

Nia Hasna Rosiana/XA/23 (revisi)

Canggal Inscription Silurah site as evidence of Indonesian history made in 732 AD by order of King Sanjaya states that "on the famous island of Java there was a king named Sanna". The great Sanna or "Mahasanna" then changed to Mahasin and people now call it Masin, a village in the District of Warungasem, Batang Regency. Was there a kingdom of Mahasin in this region? Such is the Mahasin kingdom with its king Senna who ruled his people fairly for a long time. In 684 AD Mahasin was attacked by Srivijaya.
Senna along with his crown prince ran south to set up a hermitage in Silurah Village, marked by a mysterious site with a statue of Ganesha and other Hindu relics, while Sanjaya as the crown prince was evacuated south at the foot of Mount Merapi. As a place of escape, until now the Silurah site still smells mystical which states that government employees are prohibited from approaching the area. Besides the Ganesya statue located in the valley of the meeting between the Retno river and the Semilir river, there are still many ancient relics in the Silurah Village of Wonotunggal District, such as the phallus and yoni as a symbol of fertility and the terraces of the former temple ruins.

History of Brantas River

Rumaisha Balqis/32

Since the 8th century, in the Kali Brantas watershed there has been an empire with an agrarian style, named Kanjempuan. This kingdom left the Badut Temple and Dinoyo inscriptions dated to 760 AD as proof of its existence. The upstream area of the Kali Brantas watershed where the kingdom is centered is indeed suitable for the development of an irrigated irrigated rice field system so it is not surprising that the area became one of the centers of power in East Java (Tanudirdjo, 1997). The Brantas River and its tributaries provide an adequate source of water. The strongest evidence of an agricultural culture supported by the development of intensive irrigation (irrigation) infrastructure was found in the Kali Brantas watershed, through the Harinjing Inscription in Pare. There are three parts of the inscription found, the oldest numbered 726 S or 804 AD and the youngest dating to 849 S or 927 AD In this inscription, mentioned the construction of an irrigation system (consisting of canals and weirs or dykes) called dawuhan on tributaries Kali Konto, namely Kali Harinjing (Lombard, 2000).

The Brantas River has a very important function for East Java, considering that 60% of rice production comes from paddy fields along this river flow. As a result of silting and flowing water that continues to decline the river is no longer navigable. Its function is now shifting as irrigation and drinking water raw material for a number of cities along its flow. The existence of several active volcanoes in the upper reaches of the river, namely Mount Kelud and Mount Semeru cause a lot of volcanic material that flows into this river. This causes the level of sedimentation of dams in the river flow is very high.

history of the formation of dieng

Amelia wahyu kurnia
XA/07

At the beginning of the century BC, there was a process of large-scale migration of the Kalinga population to various parts of Asia, one of them to the island of Java.

according to some sources, the migration was caused by the attack of the Ashoka kingdom which was located north of the Kalingga kingdom, but according to a researcher from France, the migration was just an ordinary migration in order to expand the scope of the kalingga nation's trade which later became a means of spreading culture.

The migration process has a big influence both in the fields of faith, technology, to literature. Even how to grow rice is suspected to be one of the technologies brought by the Kaligga people to the Land of Java. In a certain period of time, there was a continuous process of civilization, until finally Dieng became a large civilization system and at the same time the forerunner to the founding of the Ancient Mataram Dynasty (Sanjaya and Syailendra) which reached its peak in the 8-9 century AD, with evidence of its heritage in the form the temples that we still can see from the remains.

The migration is not a process of spontaneous displacement but is arranged with a mature plan. Before the migration process was carried out, they had searched for places deemed appropriate for moving the symbolic "paradise" in the Himalayas to the land of Java. And the place that is considered fitting is Dieng. Therefore, Dieng became pingkalingganing Bhawana (World Axis)

The name Dieng itself was motivated by the event of the removal of the symbol of heaven by Sang Hyang Djagadnata (Bathara Guru), as stated in the Paramayoga Fiber by R Ng Ranggawarsito? the. Dieng, which comes from Sanskrit Di, means high place or mountain and Hyang means ancestor or gods.
