The additional money would be used to help the library operate as usual, but to also help keep open the North Building of the Main Library. Many protested after the library announced the building's closing, so they decided to leave it open, but there are still not enough funds for it. Libraries are seeing budget cuts a cross the country, but it is so important for them to stay open. They are an institute for people that don't have access to an education or the internet to go and learn for free. They also are a center for community where people can come to experience different activities. Libraries are so important to me and I'm afraid one day, with all of the technology we have, they won't exist anymore.
