The perspective of Mrs. Nakamura provides a viewpoint from a mother, in contrast to someone like Father Kleinsorge who is more of a community figure. It also had some sentences that were just unnecessary and in my opinion, just completely took away from the main point of the book — the affect the atomic bomb had on the citizens of Hiroshima. I feel that if Hiroshima focused on one-two characters instead of six, I would have enjoyed it more.  Due to the fact that John Hersey focused on six different characters, it took away from the personal connections a reader could make with the characters in the book. It also made it difficult to have a clear sense of time throughout the book because of the constantly changing perspectives.
