There was a man that was used as an experiment for the human minds cleverness. This man was put into a cell, from there on he had to figure out a way to get out of this cell. He was on a timer so he was thinking as fast as he can while under a lot of pressure to get out. He was looking around as quick as he possibly could, when his eyes were scanning the room he noticed there was a metal piece around a singular light bulb. So as quick as he possibly could he grabbed the metal piece and started pulling at it until it came out of the ceiling. There was three metal rods that came out of the ceiling with the metal shield, he then proceeded use those metal rods to chip away the mortar. He ended up breaking all three rods just to try and escape. But unfortunately that wasn't the way out, the door was.

Exposition: At the beginning of the story a man had been put in a cell by scientists to test the human minds cleverness. He had volunteered to put his mind up for the test so he could see how clever he was.
Climax: The guy had been working away until the first prong broke but then he started using the second prong but that on e also broke. The man was worried that he wouldn't make until he remembered that there was one last prong....
Rising Action: The man(unnamed), had been using prongs from the metal shield to scrape the mortar little by little to try and escape.
Falling Action: The man had remembered about the last prong so he got to work at picking away at the mortar with it. After a while of using it, it broke..
Conclusion: Then all of a sudden an alarm goes off and he gets let out. He failed but they did not speak another word of it.

Setting

The setting was all based on a prison cell. The floor and walls were concrete blocks held together by mortar. There was one singular light in the whole cell, and that was a light bulb on the ceiling. It was covered by a metal cage that was called a shield. There wasn't anything in the prison cell, there as really only the light bulb, concrete blocks and the door.

The main character seems like a know it all. We know this because he kept thinking to himself how clever he was – yet he didn’t look around and assumed he knew everything. The main character must be a bit strong and tall, he was able to jump up and yank it out of the wall. He must be strong because he chipped at the mortar for so long because that’s hard and he could still do it. He was also very eager to get out. After each prong broke, he was still right on to the next prong trying to get out.

The theme is to gather information about your surroundings and look around. Don’t just assume something, like he assumed the prongs were the answer before he tried anything else. The theme is also when you’re in a tough situation to look around at all your options first.

The conflict is character versus environment. I think character versus environment because he was trying to escape a prison cell. It was him versus the cell and him versus time, which is a bit like the environment as well.

If I was in this certain situation (a prison cell). If I was first put in there I would be stressed because I was on a timer. I don’t like how I’m on a timer b/c I get really stressed and it forces me to make quick and rash decisions. So, my brain doesn’t think properly so then I start scramble. So, I would have went all over the prison cell checking everything. If there was, a bed i would check under that and the mattress, then floor, then the ceiling, then I would check the door. Or at least I hope I would check it. It is part of my surrounding so I would have checked it. I have claustrophobia so I would have been feeling anxious. And I would end up having a meltdown because when I get this way I get angry and sad mixed together. I would probably check the door because I just want out of there. I would probably be surprised when it opened but happy.
