Overview

Embark on a captivating two-week virtual work experience journey into the realm of law. Uncover the realities of legal practice through engaging conversations with industry professionals across diverse legal areas. Explore key roles, from legal research to advocacy, and delve into contractual interpretation, legal analysis, and drafting. The program includes a vital pathways module, guiding you on next steps, applications, and institutions for further study. Engage in quizzes and activities to ignite your interest in law, providing a firsthand understanding of the profession's nuances and what it truly means to thrive in the field

What's included

You will learn about some of the key roles and responsibilities of law practitioners throughout this programme, including legal research, advocacy & client communication, contractual interpretation and legal analysis & drafting. The programme will also include a vital pathways module, which will direct you on what to do next, how to apply, and what institutions you should be considering for your further study. There will also be a range of quizzes and meaningful activities to spark your interest in law as an industry and give you further insight into what it really means to work in the field.

Introduction to the Law Industry

In this introductory module, we'll give you an overview of the law industry and how to get started in the industry. That means, we'll be covering the different values and career opportunities that are available to those interested in pursuing a career in the field. Not only that, we'll be delivering important insights such as the differences between being a barrister and solicitor and what a typical day in the life of a lawyer looks like.

KIC Radio to host their first Walsall Schools Youth Conference - October 24th 2024!

Funded by 'Bring The Power - A Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund' KIC Radio will bring together young people aged 15 - 18 from schools across the Walsall borough to partake in KIC Radio's first KIC Youth Conference. During the day young people will be provided the opportunity to share their concerns on issues that affect them in everyday life. The youth conference format will be similar to that of BBC Question Time with a live guest panel Q&A.
