I think they probably used a regular font and typed out the word, then used the line and shape tools to create the wheels in the o's and the direct selection tool to combine the letters.

The loner someone looks at your logo, the more they will think about it, making it more memorable. I think that to create this, they could have used the line tool and the unite tool.
