In First grade, I fell in love with the Junie B. Jones series by Barbara Park. It was one of the first actual chapter books I have read on my own, and I found myself relating to Junie as a character.

In Kindergarten, I read books that had one or two sentences per page. These books were very picture-rich.

In kindergarten and first grade, my teachers loved reading aloud to the class often. For example, I remember my teacher reading the Frog and Toad series and the Gingerbread Man series, and I was hooked. I loved those books so much.

In third and fourth grade, one of the only series that I would avidly read was the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series written by Jeff Kinney. I loved how easygoing and humorous it was. I would sit for an hour or two just reading these books.

My Sister the Vampire was a series that I absolutely loved in fourth grade. It was a little tricky for me at times because of the more advanced language, however I still enjoyed reading it.

This book was a class reading that was assigned to my class and I in seventh grade. I loved the plot and humor in the book. Very easy to get hooked on.

Number the Stars by Lois Lowry was one of my favorite books when I was younger. I loved learning about the Holocaust and reading historical fiction from this time period. It was fascinating to me.

This book is about traditional Japanese health and wellness tips. It is a great and easy read. It gets into the spiritual, mental and nutritional aspects of health from a Japanese perspective.

I started reading this book in 2022. It is a nonfiction book that talks about femininity and how to use it to your fullest advantage as a woman. It talks about traditional as well as modern feminine roles, and how to go about society that aligns with your God given feminine energy. This is around the time where I started getting into health, wellness and spiritual books.

The Holy Quran is by far my favorite book. There is wisdom in every single verse. It helps keep me grounded, calm, humble and helps me honor and remember my Creator. This book singlehandedly changed my life.

Freshman year of high school, we were required to read Shakespeare novels. One novel that we read was Romeo and Juliet. I really liked this novel despite the challenging vocabulary. It also gave me a better insight into ancient English language.

Searching up definitions on Google has tremendously helped my literacy. I know the definitions to so many words and terms thanks to Google.

The Crash Course YouTube channel has definitely positively impacted my literacy, especially for my AP Gov/Politics class. It helped me learn and understand historical terms and events especially.
