A dead weight that requires more attentions and care to help. People don't want to spend their time looking after others when there is a whole world out there. It costs more, takes longer, and is an inconvenience to those that don't have a chronic condition. Anyone that stands out is a target for stigma and a NCD is a great way to stand out. Maybe it is extra allowances at work, or more facilities dedicated towrds NCD patients. It feels like they are getting better treatment. That they are getting more attention and that rankles some people.
