Though I research and lecture on media and journalism, the other 1/3rd of my life (the other two being family and work) has been in suicide prevention and active involvement in Befrienders KL for many years. Looking at my crystal ball, I see opportunities to help in raising awareness on mental health, sharing helping skills and researching further on these among my peers, youth, and others...one in progress is the grant for mental health study and work with Orang Asli under Dr Sree Kala and with few others here. I am very much interested in applying statistical analysis, particularly in social studies related research. I was involved in Taylor's research grant on exploring tourism among the ageing population, and it's completed. Currently I am extensively researching the determinants of pro-environmental behaviour especially among the Malaysian youth. Mental health research field is always my passion, and I am glad to be part of IL8.
