The lesson will be presented as a rotation of games to be played in a fun relaxing environment. (Possible popcorn will be provided on the tables.) Students will begin by picking their table by choosing a game piece icon, a pencil icon, or a card icon to know which rotation they belong to. As people enter we will go around the room asking for students to give examples in the joy jar of their favorite teachers and why they were their favorite. (Morning work, until class begins.) We will write these qualities of favorite teachers on the dry erase board as a word web to show the different branches of a creative/effective teacher.

Once class begins, then we will present to each table how they are to rotate to the next activity and how much time they have for each rotation. We will remind them that once the rotations are completed we will have time for open discussion to reflect what they each learned from their centers.

During class the centers will have directions written to remind students how to play the game, if they need reminders.

Towards the end of centers, students will be allowed 10 minute discussion over if their concept of a creative/effective teacher changed or stayed the same. What did they find interesting and what did they find more useful for them personally that they need to work on as a new teacher?

The activities/centers that will be used to immerse themselves in this lesson are as follows:

Creative/Effective Teacher Board Game- Students have a goal to earn the most "creative/effective teacher cards by the end of rotation. The person with the most creative/effective teacher cards wins the game. They will be able to track their progress with a score card given to them. Cards show examples of qualities and characteristics of a creative/effective teacher. Students will be able to utilize their creativity by picking their game piece or "classroom theme/mascot piece". Each card has a fun visual picture and the name posted of each character they draw, which will help those who are visual learners really connect to the cards. Each colorful card has information about the character they drew and what they do to be creative/effective. Or if they draw a white "plain" card it will display and example of what the character did to be ineffective/creative.

Interactive Memory Game- Students will be able to collaborate together to help each other beat the clock and turn over cards that match qualities of an effective teacher. A game will be provided that can be displayed on the smart board/projector or laptop. Each picture on the memory card displays a quality that an effective teacher should posses.

Pictionary Game- Students will utilize their creativity in drawing to describe key words to what an effective/creative teacher is. They will hold up their drawings without directly speaking or saying the word they are trying to express to their rotation table. Students will then call out what they guess the word is. The student with the most quickest guesses after rotation ends will win! This will encourage students to think in a clear and precise way of how to describe qualities of an effective/creative teacher.
