We were able to identify four potential disciplines (resources) that would be vital to the success of students that live in the Fulton county area. These resources that we were able to identify were: child and family literacy, Counseling, Child growth and development, and Educational Psychology. Since it’s four people in our group, we all identified one discipline that we thought would best fit. The discipline I chose was counseling. I contributed to the discussion by addressing how counseling and social work play a huge part in not only the success of the student but also that of the parents. In these communities, we have parents that work extremely hard and may need some extra help. Counseling may serve as a major resource for families. The insight I offered in my group was my own personal experience with living in Fulton county and receiving resources through counseling and social work.

I  also reminding our group that it could be worthwhile to  investigate the school systems in West Fulton county to see if the distric , specific schools or particular teachers were given grants by the State of Georgia or the Depaertment of Education to implement a specific program or be part of a pilot initiative within the last five years because there will have been a report generated about the results of that grant money that could be relevant to our problem.
